Girlie Thread - Dry Shampoo

Loving the Dove one having used it daily for the past few days once I've come out of the shower.

Extremely natural shade and thought my limbs were looking really a nice shade in the gym today!

I like the Dove one, its the best one I tried so far and I tried a few.

Only thing I find is you need a few days on and then a few days off as I find it gets too orangey and a bit streaky, comes off on towels. But maybe its just me!

It's awful though being white in winter, everyone looks ill.
It's all a bit psychological, though, isn't it. Mental conditioning.

We're all taught (in subtle fashion, through the media mainly) that white is better, but not too white or else you look 'pasty' or 'unhealthy'. So you try to get tan to look more like us darker folk... the same people who face discrimination for being darker! There's just no logic to it, really...

Oh thats all too deep for me Morbs.
Anyway I'm from Liverpool where the skin colour is Orange.

My little brother's girlfriend gave me some of that stuff for Christmas... she is from Quebec, so what she said to me was a bit funny

"when you are ugly and smelly and you want to look not ugly and smelly you can wear it... then your hair will smell nice'

I had only met her once before this... I wonder what I did to make her buy this for me?

Do you genuinely believe this nonsense?!

I agree with you, except on the last bit, I think you are taking it too further

About using faking tan, I'd only been to a sunbed once in my life, that was about 6 years ago. I don't use fake sprays cos I am sure I can't apply them and I'm also a big beliver that all this is chemical stuff and as long as I can I try to avoid any chemical. Of course, I play with the advantage of living in Spain and having a long beach season, from early may to late september, but from mid october to mid may I'm the palest persone in this world.

Dan - What I wrote above is very simplified, but generally true. And if you don't believe it then you must live a very sheltered life!

Sil - Which part? The lack of logic or the fact that naturally darker-skinned people are discriminated against? :?

Yes, I think you forget that between white pastry and a proper black (sorry if I sound incorrect here, but I don't know which would be the polite word for that, if black is not polite) there's a lot of shades. ;)

Yes, Sil, I know... I watch every day as people of Caucasian and Asian heritage are discriminated against. They're not black... in fact, many Caucasians have the same skin tone that many Northern Europeans aspire to!

Whatever... far too serious a discussion for a thread about dry shampoo and fake tanning creams. Carry on... As you were!

Que? 8O :?
I'm not sure if you are trying to be sarcastic, if you are just ignoring my point which doesn't involve anything about discrimination (I'm just talking about wanting to look tanner) or if is it me that didn't manage to express myself or didn't understand you. But whatever morbyd, whoever who spends an hour in a beach doesn't try to look a bit more healthier or nicer, it's just cos want to be black :?

Que?! Chill, dear! I'm not being sarcastic, nor ignoring your point! I was just talking about the shades in between that you mentioned, and how it relates back to my initial point! And then I was trying to drop the subject!

But since you've moved on here, can you explain to me why you believe that being darker makes you look "healthier" or "nicer"? Do you think people who are inherently darker look healthier? Or are very light-skinned people less nice-looking?

Ok, sorry, for a second I had a panic attack and I thought I had to agree with Dan X ;)
Easy to answer: if you look tanned it means you've been sunbathing and sun is always a big source of energy and vitamines. ;)

But as I said before, I agree with you, it's all pshicological

BTW, I don't like generalistations, and i wouldn't generalise in that matter. There's very pale people who look great and there's darker skinn people who don't look healthier than others.

Dan - What I wrote above is very simplified, but generally true. And if you don't believe it then you must live a very sheltered life!

A) Generally true? It's like sayign Black people commit more crime. Whilst simplified and generally true, it's rendered obsolete and irrelevant for any rational meaning or conclusion by it's lack of detail. I'm well aware thankyouverymuch of oppression towards african-americans

B) White people do not use fake tan to look like Negroes. Not even one jolt. You do appreciate that, don't you? They (not I, you understand) take it to stop looking pasty white, which looks unhealthy. If anything, off the top of my head, I would say it's chasing the image of people of, say hispanic/southamerican descent (you are aware of other skintones than 'black' or 'white', aren't you?)

Not to mention the fact you post like such a condescending ars3hole, I'm fearing a slide back into the frustrating obstinance of past Morbyd years. I thought we had moved on from there? Has all the work I did last year to teach you a bit of humility been lost?

Sheltered life? What a pr1ck.

I post like a condescending ars3hole? pot, meet kettle! You show some humility sometime and perhaps I'll follow suit! As it stands, there is little you could teach me on the subject.

Did I ever use the term Negro, African-American or black? I think not! I said "darker folk". That's a broad swath, Dan, and I think you'll agree that "hispanics/southamerican descent" are darker! I realize you're not all trying to look like Tyreese or Naomi Campbell (could do worse, though!). Perhaps, because I'm black, you made a leap of logic there.

Jeez... you've taken a half-serious remark and turned it into TanGate. Well done!
