Hi guys
I wanted to tell you all about my very bad experience over the weekend.
I went to the End for Steve Lawler on Friday night, up until 3.30am I was having a brilliant time, dancing and socialising as normal.
Around 3.30pm I started to feel quite drowsy and nauseus, I sat down with Jon and tried to wait until the feeling passed. It wasn't getting any better and I made my way to the toilets, where I was violently sick a few times. I felt myself getting more and more disorientated when I was in the toilets, I felt really hot, and dizzy. I left the toilets, thankfully Jon had come to look for me, and he took me to the main entrance, where I sat on the steps with my head on my knees.
At this point, my head felt really dizzy, I had no strength in my arms or legs, waves of nausea were sweeping over me every minute. It felt like I was really really drunk, yet my head was clear, Jon was speaking to me and I could hear everything he was saying, I just couldnt lift my head up to answer him.
Thankfully a bouncer saw how bad I was, and took me into the recovery room. I sat in this chair in the recovery room for two hours, still being sick, unable to move, my muscles had no strength in them, I felt so dizzy and disorientated... it was horrible
The door staff at the end were really good, they asked if I wanted to go to hospital, at that point I couldnt move so I said no. I was using all my mind strength to try and "stay with it". I felt myself dropping off a few times, but thankfully Jon and the bouncer made me stay awake.
By 6am I was feeling a bit better so we managed to get a cab home. I still felt really bad, up until about 8.30am in the morning, 5 hours after I originally felt sick, when I began to feel myself come around from whatever it was that had made me feel so terrible
I am trying to piece together what happened me in The End on Friday night. I've been clubbing for years and I've NEVER EVER experienced anything like that. It was like being hideously drunk, but your mind is perfectly normal.
Now I know 100% I wasnt drunk, I had about 4 drinks the whole night, defiately not enough to put me in that kind of state.
We did have a couple of pills, but again, the other people who I was with were fine, they had no symptoms like what I had. Plus, I've been doing pills for years, I know what it feels like, I know I couldn't have felt that bad from 2 pills.
The only things I can think happened were.... I had a really really bad reaction to the pills we took, but then again, would it have lasted 5 hours?! Or I could have had my drink spiked
I described what happened to several people over the weekend and they all agree it looks like something could have been put in my drink. Ive done some research on the net and found this about GHB:
"Many people have bad reactions. These can include nausea, headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, amnesia, vomiting, loss of muscle control, respiratory problems, loss of consciousness, being conscious but unable to move, and death- Especially when combined with alcohol or other drugs."
Almost exactly what happened to me on Friday (obviously not the death bit
)
Has anyone else every experience anything like this before? Can anyone tell me how I can determine what actually happened? If anyone's got any advice of their own experiences it would be much appreciated.
For the record, I'm STILL not feeling right now. Im still getting waves of nausea every now and then, nothing compared to Friday, but I still dont feel right in myself
