Favourite Restaurant....

surprised jamels bistro hasn't had a mention. it's slap bang in the middle of the west end, but don't let that put you off. gourmet food (chicken breast stuffed with crab, duck in wild berry sauce) alongside simpler, but still exceptional meals (jamels lasagne). prices are reasonable, the music is chilled and jamel prepares/inspects every dish personally.

p.s. the best home cooked chips ever!!!

Best one without a doubt is Sa Capella. The food's superb, atmos also superb. food there is exceptional. (particularly the Ox Steak). Went there with the missus a fair few times and it was great. I couldn't recommend it enough. Especially the Balcony bit. Only prob is it's so close to San An the ocassional group of San An Beer Monkey's find it. But they don't spoil it to much.

Tried to eat as Sa Capella last year but booked too late. Had a GREAT meal at El Divino this year on the terrace. Great food and great setting, and then inside for Hed Kandi afterwards which wasn't bad either ;)

Don't hesitate to go into the Club Nautico for a drink on the veranda. It is a world away from
the West End with its red plastic tables and chairs. I love to sit with my wine or coffee and
brandy and gaze across the bay.
stephen - its a shame that your sister doesnt post here anymore :!:

They are mobile street vendors selling exotic goods ranging from fake Oakley sunglasses to Rolex watches (fake of course). Oh, and any class A you care for.

fav resturant

guess it wound have to be coastline cafe.

food is always excellent

1) Sa Capella is out of this world. I eat out in the UK a lot and I personally don't beleive I have been to a better restaraunt. The setting is magical, the service excellent and the food out of this world. Imagine fillet of ox that you cook yourself on a rocksalt oven/grill!!!! Proper a la carte and cracking wine list to boot!!!

2) Glad to see someone mentioned Jamels Bistro, the guy puts so much effort into his food, I remember the day before we went in we were looking at the menu. He must have spent a good half hour talking us through, he was so enthusiastic about his food and when we ate it didn't dissapoint. Don't be put off by location!!! Recommend the duck!!

3) Il Vaticino - San An (not far from Mambo) Georgeous little restaraunt which specialises in Italian - not your average Lasagne etc.... more raw veal, fine steaks etc. Lovely interior and also has a very pleasant patio to the rear.

4) Villa Mercedes - went in 2002 and had the best meal of the two week stay there. Was advised against going there 2003. So not sure what it is like now. 2002 had excelent menu/service and the restaurant itself is stunning, with lovely interior and cracking harbour view.

El Rincon de Pepe is my favourite...incredible little tapas place in the West End of San Antonio. It's very cool inside, has a tree growing through the ceiling, the house red is lovely and the seafood tapas are to die for!!!! Alternatively, on one of the side streets leading down from the church in San An, just lower down and accross the road from the Casa Maria Hotel is a little Indonesian/Thai/Chinese restaurant with tables outside- anyone know what it's called? The food is inexpensive and very nice, and if you sit outside and look through the fly-screen you can see right into the kitchen which is always very clean.

1. Lad Arenas - Escana
2. Rincon de Pepe - Santa Eularlia - Tapas
3.Port Balansat - Port de San Miguel - paella
