after hearing a lot of music pals rave about him I finally got to hear Kuniyuki Takahashi for the first time on Friday at Sala Apolo. 2 blissful hours - a live excursion through a mix of classic 4/4 and less obvious electronica, improvised sounds, arp synths, warm melodies, dramatic kickdrums, eerie sound effects and immaculately timed suspense. An absolute master of his craft and truly humble with it. Mind blown. Am no expert but I've found very few make/play analogue house/techno this well (Omar S perhaps? Etienne Jaumet, i:cube, Patrice Scott, Keith Worthy amongst others)
