Favorite childhood movies?

And who wanted her with BLAINE when she could have had the fabulous Duckie???

But it was such a happy ending and Duckie ended up happily ever after as well

I do occasionally spend a Saturday afternoon watching it and Tom will come home and I'm shedding a few tears

Now why don't they make films like that anymore??!

Excalibur (not really a kid's movie, but I really liked it)
One of the first R-rated movies I remember seeing... me and my neighbor used to rewind the sex scene

'life moves pretty fast if you dont stop and look around once in a while you could miss it'
Classic line.

Anyone remember Heathers? Another classic film
B000059PPG.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

"It's got that 'what a cruel world so lets all toss ourselves into the abyss' kind of ambience"
"f**k me gently with a chainsaw"
"oh, the humanity!"
"Eskimo"

Bripmon: I loved Excalibur when I was little! That is why I got so into King Arthur. I watch it now and the acting is horrific but I still love it.

Barbie, you are right it was a collective happy ending and how good was the ending to Sixteen Candles?? and you know they try to hard these days with movies...I mean the story lines were so simple in those John Hughes films and always with such GREAT music...

I think we're expanding beyond PachaGirl's 4-6 age bracket

Yeah originally I was thinking of movies that you loved as a little tyke (Dot and the Kangaroo was the first movie I cried to... my momma said I was like 3 1/2-4 and SOBBING, and curled up in her arms for like ten minutes lol.)

but discussing the ones a lil later than that is cool too!

Hahahahahaha!!!!!!! I used to ask my sister what they were doing, she never used to say anything, just told me to shut up!!!

Try watching The Karate Kid now, you might throw up a little in your mouth watching how bad the acting is. But, like someone else posted, it wasn't about the acting, the story lines were good and the soundtracks were classic.

I have it on video and watched it again at some point about 8-9 years go. It was pretty crap compared to how I remembered it from childhood

Babs - I think 16 Candles came out before Pretty in Pink

LOVE HEATHERS!!

When I was looking for pics of Never Ending Story, I came across this one of the dude that sings the beloved theme song:

KAJAGOOGOO...I loved that damn song from Neverending Story! Well it was just lamal but STILL "too shy" still one of my favorite tunes.

Barbie: You need to see 16 Candles immediately. If you like all those Moly Ringwald movies, you know, simple pleasures RENT IT and drink all kinds of wine (which makes everything better...)

Bripmon- Actually, lately I have been obsessed with watching the Karate Kid cause they keep playing it on cable and I guess I am pretty sappy but I just love it when Daniel-san does that kick and Mr. Miyagi stands all proud...I swear I want to cry sometimes. ALTHOUGH the acting is beyond terrible and the music makes me embarrassed it is so bad.

Why do you think I mentioned it.

There is nothing wrong with a little Bananarama "Cruel Summer"

Dude, there are always the same movies on cable. I can't get away from it!!! Probably why I don't watch much TV!
