Never Ending Story has got to sweep them all though... STILL love that movie :P

I quite liked Labyrinth. Bowie was soooo cool 8)

Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal was also a classic.

That said, the earliest movie I remember seeing is Jaws 8O
(spent half the film under the seat, I think)

My favorite childhood movies:

1) Xanadu (I loved Olivia Newton John)
2) Grease
3) Hell Night
4) Labyrinth (David Bowie RULES in that movie)
5) Neverending Story ("SAY MY NAME BASTIAN...PLEEEZZZZZZZZZZZ")

We were also Horror movie freaks as kids you know Salem's Lot, CreepShow, The Exorcist (which damaged me for life, I can't even see Linda Blair in that makeup and hear that voice without having a nightmare), Amityville Horror...

OH...I also loved Mel Brooks' History of the World when I was a kid.

I think we're expanding beyond PachaGirl's 4-6 age bracket

I think I was in my teens when most of the movies we've mentioned came out

But since we've started, how about Children of the Corn for horror?
And the Brat Pack and John Hughes films - 16 Candles, Some Kind of Wonderful, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink... all classics 8)

Morbyd, honey, I was like five years old when a lot of those movies came out!!! ;)

And Children of the Corn did freak me out when I was little...Anyone remember the original Boogeyman?

Hehe, that's more my kind of generation too  ;)

Pretty in Pink, Dirty Dancing, Cocktail, The Breakfast Club, St Elmos Fire, Ferris Bueller's Day Off :D

I don't know what happened to me after that, I used to watch films, then I must have found wine, boys and drugs :?

Ooh I used to love Molly Ringwald, esp in her fancy frock in Pretty in Pink..........I want Psychedelic Furs - Pretty in Pink played @ my funeral

Barbie: "don't know what happened to me after that, I used to watch films, then I must have found wine, boys and drugs"

I think that is one of the truest statements I have heard in a long time. SO TRUE. I haven't seen a new film or gone to the movies in a long time. And when I do it is few and far between.

 :?

I've got a really short attention span :? I don't/can't even watch TV so going to the cinema is absolute torture for me, I go once a year to keep Tom quiet  ;)

But yay, wine, boys, drugs, clothes, make-up are lots more fun than films ;)

I think that collectively, we got all of my favorites already 8)

How about ...

Excalibur (not really a kid's movie, but I really liked it)
