Hi everyone,

I know this has probably been asked about before but I really want to book a night away in a nice hotel for my fellas bday in May. I am not really "wise" on where to go in London and I am kind of on a budget, well not a budget but I cant spend mega bucks (Ibiza hol is more important :) )but I just want somewhere nice where we can stay and where there is a few nice places not far away/tube ride away to go for eating and drinking etc etc

Hoping the weather might be quite nice too as summer will be on its way (kind of)

I do remember somewhere in London that was cobbled streets and went along the river, could it be Embankment area?

As I said I am tres clueless when it comes to London and the best places to go. Somewhere quite easy to reach would be great for us

Thanking you in advance

Ooh thanks I will have a look at that :)

Tbh if you don't get a last minute booking on somewhere Laterooms, London is notoriously expensive for hotels :? Even the chains like Hilton, Holiday Inns etc are 2x as expensive as anywhere else esp if you want a Central London location.

I can recommend the Millenium & Copthorne hotels at Chelsea FC ;)
Not too expensive, 5 minute walk to the tube, quiet neighborhood (except on matchdays )

Yeah I just looked at the Hilton, we stayed in one in Bath and it was £100 something for a deluxe room which to be honest was nice but not as great as it was made out

If you want something cheap why not just got for a Travelodge/Premier Loddge/Travel Inn/whatever they are called these days.

Cheap and cheerful but always clean and modern, plus it will give you more money for necessities like shopping etc ;)

There is a decent enough Travelodge in Covent Garden http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel/hotel_id/318/LondonCoventGarden

:D Ha I wa just about to mention travelodge!!

I'd get yourself on lastminute.com- i love the secret hotel room thing where you don't know where your staying till after you've paid!:D

Do you know what? I might just do that its already crossed my mind I have to say. Covent Garden would be lovely, I love it there when the weather is nice. Might just opt for that, at least I know what I am getting or I am likely to be ripped off and it ends up a disaster.

my recommendation is the St Giles just off Tottenham Court Road

nice, clean and perfect location

i'm staying there in May
