I don't think Everton are missing Stubbs (Sunderland are not doing much better are they). Yobo and Weir played quite well against City.

People already think we are relegated after 7 games. I promise you we will finish top half by the end of the season.

errr they've won a game and been very unfortunate not to win another 2 and to be fair, should've beat us :?

I think Ferrari looks Ok, and he is supposed to be even better at Centre Half. Valente doesn't look any better than Pistone.

Were missing Carsley also and hopefully when Beattie's fit he will start earning some of his money.... buy scoring some goals!

On the day Man City didn't look any better than us... and there currently eighth :?:
Without doubt we're better than the position we're in, it's just a matter of us getting our act together and playing as well as we can, which we havn't been doing. I don't think Australia are playing this week, so Tim Cahill can finally get a bit of a rest and hopefully start playing like he did last season.

ahem....we're 6th!!

also dont get delusional, I remember that we were "better than the position we're in" and were "too good to go down" back in 98/99 when we free fell into the then div 2!!! we also pinned all our hopes on one player too, Gio Kinkladze...and look where that got us?? :?

Cahill was your best player on Sunday and yes, it wasnt a vintage performance from us but thats the difference between a good team and a poor team....good teams play badly and still win.

The reason we are 6th and not bottom is because we have won more games, so saying theres no difference is a bit wide of the mark, anyway, saying that I hope you turn things around, ideally with Chuckle brother gary picking up a nasty injury on the way ;)

Chuckle brother Gary can get all the injuries in the world, once our Phil is ok!

DOH :o

Always get them 2 mixed up
maybe I should just say the one who looks slighty more like Albert Steptoe than the other ;)

First mistake: pinning all your hopes on a Georgian

(though Georgian chefs are quite good ;) )

i was there on Sunday and both teams were very poor!!

thought we (everton) looked ok first half until the ball went up to the strikers! the control of bent and mcfadden was awful!! wayno is right - there was nothing in it until the mills thunderbolt!

hopefully we'll get something going - though with spurs and chelsea as our next two games in the league its not looking too clever!

best/funniest part of the game - sitting right next to Curly Watts (ex of Coronation St)! for someone who must have a few quid he looked awful! wearing possibly the worst tie in the world ever!!

Curly Watts is a City fan (sadly) so were you sat in the Executive bit then? I was just beneath the main scoreboard. And yes, I did have the joys of driving back up to Glasgow afterwards to contend with.

Nowt wrong with our Curly....however he's in good company
The Gallagher brothers (aka oasis)
Mike Pickering
The Williams Brothers & Jimmy Goodwin (aka Doves)
Marc & Lard
Les Battersby
John Stapleton

who supports the Rags??

Mick Hucknall
James Nesbitt & Eamon Holmes ;)

It's a bit embarrassing - along with the drunken guy from Shameless too!

Freddie Flintoff is one too though, slightly better!

When are you next able to catch a game? Do you go to any of the London ones?

am guaranteed Charlton away as my girlfriends Uncle is a season ticket holder @ Charlton, hope to catch a few home games tho!!!

we forgot the Hitman Hatton :D

Of course!

I might be down for the West Ham one as can probably get in the box due to where my boyfriend used to live.

clara, yes we were in the executive bit. am lucky as i get quite a few football corporate invites through my job. the setup at city was very impressive. i think its one of the best stadiums in the country (old trafford is better but won't go into that!!). it was the first time i'd been to the match there (went to U2 in the summer) and i was impressed. Other comedy spot was Derek Hatton (militant labour council in liverpool in the 80's). he now presents a programme on Granada Tv advising middle aged men what to wear. he should take a look in the mirror himself!!
