Eating in Ibiza Town

Although i doubt well be doing too much eating when were in Ibiza, on our first night before hitting Ibiza town i think well be up for a decent meal. What places would anyone suggest, nowhere too swanky, but a decent enough place preferably one with a decent view (either of the town or of the nightlife!).
 
best thing is 2 wander either up nr the old town and have a look around there as there are nice places to eat there also where el devino is around the port area there is some nice places there too.
Both places have nice views if you go to the right place.
 
There are some fabulous places in the old town. Great for people watching and very romantic. However, because of the location they tend to charge a bit more.

Sa Torretta is my favourite in the whole of Ibiza. I went there twice last year with my boyfriend (who's a vegetarian) and had such a good meal. I think it came in at about 40 euros for three courses each, a bottle of wine and a bottle of water which isn't bad at all for such an amazing meal.

Check the menus to see what tickles your fancy, but that is my recommendation.
 
Couldnt agree more. Sa Torretta is one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten it. The food is incredible and its in a class location for watching the world go by. Go!
 
expolore the old town and you'll find a street with lots of flags and decorations that narrows as it heads uphill; there are several nice restaurants here with seating in the street outside.

keep heading up and you'll find a couple of places on a kind of terrace that overlooks the town below, also plenty of outdoor seating.

outside the old town and in the main marina area there are a number of less classy joints doing the standard paella, chicken & chips, pizzas etc as well as one or two up market places where you can get steaks, lobster etc, but be prepared to pay.

on the opposite side of the marina there's the casino which has an up market restaurant,and nearby are the clubs el divino and pacha, both of which have restaurants.

there's an argentinian steak restaurant on one of the roads just outside the town centre, near the mcdonalds - this has imported argentian beef which is rather nice and not too pricey.

overall there is some very good food to be had but also quite a bit of crap, and I have to say that i've never had what i'd call a perfect meal in ibiza, but then i am a bit fussy when it comes to eating out!

As everyone's said, anyone in the Old Town, can't remember the names of the places but had some lovely meals up there over the years, very romantic and chilled and some of the food up to the standard of Fancy London Town restaurants.
 
why restrict yourselves to ibiza town?

this little island is so full of stonking restaurants it's difficult to choose where to go!
 
By the way, I'd probably advise people to avoid eating by the marina as it's incredibly busy and full of waiters hassling you to eat there if you so much as glance in the direction of a menu.

And it's very over-priced for what it is.

this has been my general experience eating in ibiza, but hope to do better this year particularly with some of the recommendations i've found searching this board. there's some great info here if you look for it.

Sadly that is what I found too last year. If you want pizzas then you can get them cheaply but for more adventurous stuff it is often over-priced and a bit dodgy.

There is a great Indian opposite Space but it is not cheap but I'm happy to pay a bit extra if the food and service is excellent.
 
ooh kittens head you've been to all the wrong places. i like to think i know a thing or two about food ( i used to write restaurant reviews) and believe me there are tons of fantastic restaurants here, from the very cheap basic spanish 'transport cafes' to rustic places out in the country. i don't think you need to spend a lot of money to get good service and good food - i never do.
 
dont have the oridinary pasta or anything (except the spaghetti at Savannah - heaven for 5,5 Euro!) - try the local dishes and specialties! those are the best!

Oh, I agree. Bear in mind I was staying in Playa Den Bossa which was fairly rubbish for food. Once we hit Ibiza Town there was so much on offer and we had some great meals.

(I used to write restaurant reviews too!)

really? dammit! i stayed in playa two years ago and never noticed this place and I love my curry. :roll:

ah well i'll just have to go there next week to make up for it. :D

as for other types of food, i've had some truly disgusting crap in ibiza. i remember stopping at a bar in the ibiza town marina and ordering some pasta; now i didn't expect a beautiful homemade dish of fresh pasta with a deep rich ragu cooked for 12 hours, but nor did i expect what i got - pasta shells with tomato ketchup! 8O

Let's just say it's not really the culinery capital of the world.

Although Hollands cheese and onion pies, chips and mushy peas are pretty good before hitting a club. :lol:
