Drink Prices

Last year it was 1.81 (About £1.20) euros for 6 bottles of San Miguel from the supermarket, 4 (about £2.64) euros for one bottle in Mambo. Spent a couple of hours early on one night last year and most of the bars were doing 2 bottles for 4 euros. (Some of these were better deals than others 'cos some were the slightly smaller bottles).

33cl and 25 cl.
Ask always for a MEDIANA 33cl, the smaller ones are called QUINTOS

I know Mambo is prolly a fairly expensive business to run and the season isn't all year etc, but when you consider that a bottle of beer there is 13 times more expensive than from the supermarket, it's quite shocking!

Sooooo, would someplace like Mambo frown on BYOB from the supermarket?????

In Norway..

In Oslo (Norway), some places charge up to 8 - 9 eur for a 0,5 litre of beer.
So I think 2-4 eur for a beer at a nice sunset bar is pretty cheap... 8)

..........And then that's where the danger starts - when you remember you have your credit card with you......... seems like such a good idea at the time - its a sobering thought when you find your receipts the next morning!!

I dont think you can grumble about paying £2.60 for a bottle of San Mig at mambo, its £2.20 in my local which is a shithole.

Can see your logic. Wasn't really grumbling - as I say, being a lazy twat, I usually pay the extra and buy from the sunset bars anyway. Some people are on a tight budget, however, and the supermarket route will mean their cash lasts longer to do all the things we all love.

Not one for moaning, per se, 'cos no-one's forcing you to spend anything if you don't want to. Things are, after all, worth what people are willing pay for them and good luck to people making money by risking capital to do so.

This time in a fortnight I shall be lying outside Mambo on one of their sunloungers, drinking one of their beers. At that moment in time, it will be worth every last penny!

Yeah your right, theres nothing wrong with the going the supermarket and getting near the action. Did it meself in 98 when the R1 weekend was held largely from Mambo. Kept sneaking past the bloke looking out for people sneaking their own booze in, in the end i was more interested in trying to "beat" him and get into mambo with a bottle of the cheapest beer ever (starberg or something) from the supermarket.

He won. I ended up paying full whack!

(Which was probably a lot less in pre-euro days )
