Drink Prices

Hiya,

It's my first time going to ibiza at the end of august and i know that it's gonna be pretty expensive!!

I know i'll probably get slated for asking this but on average what kind of prices are drinks around the west end?

Its not my usual cup of tea but will probably make a few trip to west end before heading on to the big clubs?

Thanks

I'm sure you wont get slated ;)

Not sure how much drink prices are around there, don't think they are that expensive, but also dont forget to get a few bottles from the supermarket, and have a drink while getting ready to go out ;) 8)

Yeah that's another of my idea's

I wanna try and do as much as possible without spending to much dosh, don't think that its gonna be possible

yep

for me it will be carryout battalion then on to mambo or bar m

get fed up with people trying to drag u into bars on the west end after a while

few litres of vodka and southern comfort should keep me going for a day or 2

Last year it was 1.81 (About £1.20) euros for 6 bottles of San Miguel from the supermarket, 4 (about £2.64) euros for one bottle in Mambo. Spent a couple of hours early on one night last year and most of the bars were doing 2 bottles for 4 euros. (Some of these were better deals than others 'cos some were the slightly smaller bottles).

If you go for the supermarket option (which still allows you drink at Sunset down on the rocks past Mambo), you should be able to afford plent at 20p per bottle and have cash left over for over fun.

I know Mambo is prolly a fairly expensive business to run and the season isn't all year etc, but when you consider that a bottle of beer there is 13 times more expensive than from the supermarket, it's quite shocking!

looks like i'll be going for that option then!!! i take it this is the most popular option?

thanks

Dunno.

I tend to spend money like water and then realise I could have enjoyed myself the same on a lot less. Live and don't learn - that's my moto

when i first went toIbiza as an over18 i was wary of the prices at Mambo etc

but we worked it out that the cost of a Corona at Mambo was pretty equivalent to a pre-club bar in Glasgow...so not too expensive then

the ones to watch are the club drinks prices - those are the real killers

Its like your brother and your sister - its all relative! Mambo charging that for a beer is the equivalent of a bar in Britain charging £13 for a bottle of Stella!

So... when you were 11 you had a liberal attitude to spending and got pissed at Mambo anyway? ;)

don't have a sister - does that mean i get it half price?

the thing we noted was that converting the peseta cost of a beer at Mambo was roughly the same as in one of the cooler Glasgow pre-club bars - only difference being better view and normally better tunes :-)

being the skinflint i am i begrudge going to a pub before the club cos the drinks are so dear

Supermarket loyal here!

and when i was 11 i just stole tabs and booze - pocket money goes further that way

I see ya point Scott. Just saying that licensed premises here are about 2.5-4 times dearer than offies and in Ibiza the figure is 13 times plus!

absolutely

all about the market i suppose - people will pay it
looking from the other side of the fence - they've gotta go for every euro they can

i kinda feel funny about taking booze to the sunset strip beaches - the ones maintained by the bars - seems a bit too much going into a pubs beer garden with a carry out!

thats where Casa Buckley could have been handy as the cheaper alternative pre-club party! ;) :D ;) :D

I dont think you can grumble about paying £2.60 for a bottle of San Mig at mambo, its £2.20 in my local which is a shithole, and has about two windows nevermind a gorgeous seaview. And in City centre L'pool its £3.50 for a bottle in some bars!

In 02 i was quite surprised to find that a becks was a fiver a bottle roughly in Manu, i was expecting well more.

I can rarely be bothered going to the supermarket, but on the rare ocassions I do, I go further up the strip away from the bars. As you say, sitting on their loungers and expecting them to clear up would be cheeky.

Casa Buckley pre-parties would have been good - now they'll feature Asahi!

15 Euro (£10) for a Vodka/Coke in Pacha last year. Ouch!

I'm a "carryout onto the rocks in front of Mambo/Cafe Del Mar" person too ;-)

By far the clubs are the worst, especially Amnesia. 15 euros for a vodka redbull and 8 euros for a bottle of small water, and as I've mentioned before, the bartender tried to steal my change... absolutely lovely.

I found a few good deals at certain bars before going to the clubs where it was free shots with beer or 2 for 1 beer or a pint of vodka redbull for 3 euros... good stuff :)
