Door searches

you are very right about safety there! Fun to get your stuff in but dangerous if someone does get a weapon in. But if they really really wanted to I'm sure they could do it anyway.
 
Very lame - yes it lets you smuggle stuff in if you want but if I wanted to I could have taken a knife in with no problem at all.

Exactly. And that's what door searches should be all about. Protecting clubbers from physical attack and dangerous drugs.
 
fair point but I think theres a difference between a saturday night in London and a club full of holidaymakers who aren't likely to be out with a knife, if someone wanted to do you damage I would imagine they would just glass you, up here you would only get searched in those clubs that might attract that sort of clientele, even though they are starting to go to the decent underground clubs now
 
i have never, ever been searched for anything on the way into any club or bar in ibiza. never.
