Do you like your job?

Ya, learn from Buckley. Wield the axe!

Wielding the axe can often land you in £££££'s bother.

I'd rather try and resolve a situation than make it worse.

Only ever had to sack 1 person (utter gross misconduct 8O ) however one came very close last week. Why do people insist on making life difficult for themselves for no reason?

I twice had to sack people when I was running my own PR agency... and I had to downsize 2 people too (in satellite offices I no longer needed). Not a pleasant experience either way.

Fortunately, there were fewer labor laws to deal with at the time so it didn't cost me a penny!

I've correct your typo mister.

;)

I don't like my job.. then again I think of it as a temporary job until about August, where I will do something else... not a career.

I work at the Careers centre at a university for Business students.. pretty mundane at the moment. I'm nearly 29 now, and have been out of university for while, and have been doing lots of traveling and working overseas since then, so I can't really expect to have worked my way up, when i've never been in one place for very long in the apst 8/9 years.

so no, I most definitely do not think I will be here forever.

I think sometimes we are pressured to belive that if we don't go to university right after school, get a job, get a better job buy a house... then there's something wrong. Not that there is anything wrong with that either...

I'm going back to uni next year to do a Masters.. and who knows what'll happen after that.

Do I enjoy my job. NO but it is alright for now!!

I have just moved to London and I work for a construction company as a PA. I put up with it because I can wear what I want, the money is satisfactory and it is very close to where I live and well the only stress I get is bidding on ebay :)

I have never been interested in the whole career thing, so I have always been undecided what to do with my life..... I have, always wanted to be a fashion designer, so I have moved to London to pursue my dream. I also am saving up to train to be a Personal Fitness Trainer.

Real dream living on a certain Island designing own clothes living in house made by my partner and myself. Own pot bellied pigs, chickens, grow own vegetables. Thats it! My dream is to be a HIPPY :)

That's a very good ideal Sirens  Part of me thinks, just work your butt off now and make loads of money, then move to Ibiza when you're 30 and live by the sea drinking Sangria, maybe doing about 2 months work a year just to tie me over

Knight Build. Which one do you work for? Kajima?

Maybe its because i don't have a very good job, but I don't like to be defined by my job.

yes, I would like to have a job in which I feel more fulfilled.. and one that pays a little more money..but I don't like it when its the first question people ask you upon meeting...the old cliche, work to live rather than live to work rings true.

...but I'm still looking for a job to be fulfilled in .. ha ha

I HATE THAT QUESTION TOOOO. I know sometimes it is just an ice breaker. But the real question, I think is. How much money do you earn?, what car do you drive? Are you better than me? All bull****.

I am with you Utagaura :)

yes sirens.. or is it because we just dont' like our jobs....:) :)

Ithink asking about salary with people who are mere aquaintanhces, or someone you've just met is just plain rude... but people who OFFER their salary info to me without even asking is just worse.

Maybe I feel the need to justify why i haven't climbed up the career ladder like lots of other people...but when I think about it I wouldn't change what i've done and the experiences I've had over the past few years for anything:)

Probably because we have HUGE chips on our shoulders :) But I am like you I wouldn't change anything. I just have never really known what I wanted to do. My head is always in the clouds, live in my own little dream world :)
