How about when people swap 'were' and 'was' e.g. "I were stood there talking to him" or "I didn't know where we was"

Yeah occurs to me that could be offensive to people who have it as part of their regional dialect! So sorry!!
 
i must admit sometimes i write my texts in short hand but only so i can fit it onto one text instead of two so therefore saving myself the additional 10p! Im a student so it automatically makes me tight! ;)
But admittidly shorthand is annoying on the board- the words that feck me off are 'ppl' instead of people- i mean that doesnt even makes sense to me! 'ru' (lazy) and 'bk' instead of back- it could mean book, brook, black, bank need i go on?!? :evil:

But as for spelling... well i apologise in advance!
 
The type of English illustrated in the topic subject annoys me, too!
And it really cannot be any quicker to be typing all those numbers instead of letters, is it?
 
How about a new topic being started that people can reply 'Yes' to if they think Txt speak and the such should not be allowed on Spotlight and that people should only use propper words?

Then we/admin could see just how many people it is annoying the hell out of and perhaps some sort of guidelines could be set?

Someone with some delicacy and tact could, on behalf of every one else write a PM to a certain new member asking her to stop using capitals in every other post and to take the time to form propperly spelt and gramatically correct messages rather than bastardising the English language to within a vowel of its life in every post.
