Did you enjoy Uni?

I sometimes wish I'd done things differently eg. gone to more lectures, worked harder, got involved in worthy activities etc. And on a more shallow level, got rid of my then boyfriend sooner and taken better advantage of the student shagfest.

But I wouldn't really change a thing - I had a fantastic time and the friends I made there are still some of my closest mates.

So it's possible that you could be having a better time somewhere else, but I'd say embrace campus life, get everything you can out of it, then move to a big city when you graduate. :)

Personally I never enjoyed sitting in a lecture hall taking notes.

But I think you should definitely finish something you start. Right now I’m currently frustrated with my younger brother who at 23, has been studying at uni full time/ part time for the past 6 years.. and wants to quit.. with ONE TERM left. He says its boring, he doesn’t like people, and wants to focus on his ‘music career’

I HATED my first year at uni.. I took courses I thought I SHOULD be taking, as a result I failed two classes and did poorly in the rest. I ended up taking two years off in the middle of my degree to travel and work overseas, I then came back, changed my major, concentration and enjoyed and did well for the remaining three years.

Having a degree in History and Psychology isn’t bringing in the big money, but it did open the doors for me to work in Japan for three years and give me a lot more opportunities.

Now, at 28, soon to be 29, I find myself heading back to uni next year at 29/30 to do a Masters. I’m a little apprehensive about going back to study with the kiddies and be a poor student, but the course is going to be a lot more practicum based, which I’m looking forward to.

I never met “my kind of people” at uni either.. and neither do many of my friends here. I have a variety of friends and its nice . I don’t, nor do any of my friends here, keep in contact with much more than a handful of people they went to uni with.
Most of my friends are doing something COMPLETELY different as to what they were doing at uni. I have a friend who did sociology, was a police officer for 15 years, and is now teaching at a private school in Korea.. another friend of mine did Chemistry and is now doing a Ph d in political science.

My ‘good times’ have been after uni.. uni was just a means to get some more qualification.

Anyway, it sounds like you are doing something interesting.. remember that there are plenty of exciting times ahead.. good luck!

I loved university, it was just like a 3 year long party

I think university all depends on who you live with/who you meet, I was really lucky cos the people I met were all caners so I had the best 3 years. Tom on the other hand got lumbered living with a bunch of weirdoes who thought he was a druggie  and he ended up leaving after a term, altho the fact that he was 'up north' (his words, since when has Birmingham ever been up north   ) contributed to it as well

I'm almost finished my 3rd year of a maths degree and i've hated every year so far!

I expected university to be social / party paradise but I had more of a mad time in my last year at high school

The people in my course are alright, but not really the type of people I can be myself around. I find the social part of it completely boring and it's made it **** for 3 years!

Also it takes me 1hr 30mins to get there by bus then the same back, every day. Which is also ****!!

I almost dropped out in second year but i've stuck it through - like everyone else says the time does go by really quickly!

Just stick in, and you'll be finished sooner than you think ;)

thats interesting that cos on my course when i had extra credits to make up, i'm always, just by coincidence end up in seminars where i was the only guy......hmmmmmm.:p :p

btw - and for the record, i'm never 'nice' to anyone especially people i like, so take my constant banter and abuse as a compliment;)
