I generally try not to miss Defected, it's on my must-see list again this year. It can be a little cheesy sometimes, but basically it's just really bouncy, good-time party music to put a smile on your face and keep you dancing all night. Plus, whereas in the El Divino days it was basically Kid Creme, Junior Jack and Martin Solveig on rotation, they have some incredible line-ups this year - Todd Terry and Kenny Dope on the same night for instance.
Def Mix is a strong contender for a visit too, I would probably regard it as the most 'serious' of the three and a chance to see some of the real pioneers. Frankie Knuckles' recent Essential Mix from Miami was top class.
There is absolutely no chance of me going to Subliminal Sessions. It has been a good label over the years and I have quite a few of their releases, but I'm afraid I can't stand Morillo. Can't really fault him in terms of selection, apart from it having too much of a 'greatest hits' feel at times, but in my experience he barely makes the effort to mix and spends half the night cutting the music altogether and demanding the crowd cheer him. It will probably be too crowded for comfort too.
