DC10 - Very Bad News

It's not just one party... it's a host of things, that other people have mentioned as well.

no villa parties, no Matinee, no other day parties, no after parties.... while it's not stopping me from booking my holiday completely, I have a feeling this will be my last time for a while in Ibiza.

The government is getting what they want if they don't want these sorts of clubbers there as people all seem to be booking elsewhere.

I was in Croatia for a couple of weeks back in 1997 and it was amazing fun then. Didn't meet too many non-Croatian tourists then and this was in July / August. I bet it's changed immensely since then...

I'm just glad to be going one more time. It sounds like Ibiza, as a clubbing destination, is on it's last leg.

oh fer gods sake on what basis are you making that statement ?

one tiny 400 capacity club that has arguably only a couple of parties a week has to shut because they failed to control drug use in their club - of which clubbers have to take the blame for - has had their 57 day appeal overturned and all of a sudden its just like last summer when everyone predicted the death of ibiza

get over it

Don't worry yourself, I'm over it. Like I said, just glad to be going again. You can't deny that these new laws have put some clubbers off. As someone stated before, numbers are down some 20%.

numbers aren't down by 20%. that came from someone's inability to transfer a figure from one page to another. ibiza's numbers are down and so are most other resorts. ibiza's downturn is not as bad as some places and worse than others, so you can't really read anything into the clubbing issue - especially as our season is two weeks old?

finally someone talking sense..........8)

People talk about the death of Ibiza and 'its not as good as it used to be' every single year.

I for one will be going and enjoying myself and again on my trip in September, then again I imagine next year 8)

Yes its a sh,itter but they will bounce back, they always do :)

Can anyone tell me what DC10 does differently to the other clubs to make this happen?

DC10 has a very small capacity in comparison to Amnesia, and it's only open 1 day a week all season, with additional nights on weds and fridays for part of the season, plus one offs.

The door charge for circoloco is roughly half of the cocoon door charge. Drinks are also 10 Euros as opposed to 15 Euros plus for bigger clubs.

If you do the maths, perhaps it doesn't make enough money to pay the fines or/ whatever is needed to appease the officials...

They make their money allright. Circo Loco has become a global clubbing brand in recent years putting on tours across the world.

This isn't about fines. The powers that be want DC10 closed permanantly and they will disrupt their seasons until Circo Loco disbands.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about the global tours.

Although I'm confused as to who is actually responisible for the fines? Circoloco or DC10? Circoloco just promote 1 night....

Agree that someone seems to want an end to it all

I don't get it why people feel the need to put an end to something just because they don't like it or don't get it.

I see some people around here drive gas-guzzling trucks , listen to country music and wear massive belt buckles. I don't get it, I don't like it, it makes me vomit in my mouth a little when I see it, but I'm not going to try and stop it.

good analogy?

not at all - what part of the following dont people get? :

the local govn last year ordered dc10 to close for 2 months because they felt they had failed to deal with drugs consumption within dc10 in 05/06

you reap what you sow - if clubbers hadnt turned up every monday morning pilled off their tits, carrying coke and DYING (btw) - maybe someone wouldnt have thought - sh1t this is getting silly.... - there were 450 arrests last opening weekend - and people wonder why the govn thinks "hmmm this is not really good this - all the newspapers around the world showing p diddy alledegly buying e in dc10, italians dying in the same place and reporters saying its open and obvious drug taking"

and it wasnt just dc10 - amnesia got hit last year as well

i have some sympathy but the fact is that the 60 days was for previous years abuse and its a legal matter not an emotional one

there have been questions on these forums about whether you can buy fresh milk here, whether there are cash machines, i guess people assume there are no lawyers here either....

btw i found this the other day

if someone were to go to a podcast site that had a dot com at the end and just had podcast in the address and happened to search for ims 2nd panel ....

if you want to complain i would suggest you ask your san jose mayor or paco medina to write to madrid - assumimg of course you are a resident of san jose - otherwise signing an internet petition in english is just pi**ing in the wind

I think that about sums it up for me as well
