DC10 - Very Bad News

So the reason they have to shut for 57 days is because they only shut for 3 out of the 60 days last year?

as bad as DC10 being closed is

1) it seems that they have f***ed up here big time, thinking they were invicible
2) 1 club doesn not make the island
3) the petition is pointless, even if the authorities look at it - they would merely chuckle on the way to clicking off the site/binning the paper

People here are acting like they just killed your mother. It's one club. One party out of the sveral you will attend during your visit to the island.

Yes, it's a great club. I love DC10. It's also a great party. I love Circoloco. I'm very happy I attended when visiting over the past 2 years (and wish I'd gone in previous visits!).

But other things will sprout in its place. I had a blast at the Mulletover party up in the hills last year during the week DC10 was closed.

And if this one party is all that going to Ibiza is about for you, I feel sorry for you!

People are asking "why now". Well, in most countries, court cases take time. I imagine that in "manana" Ibiza that's as true as everywhere. It took a year for the government to get the court ruling closing the club down for concrete infractions of the law. DC10 somehow got that ruling stayed in a week. And it's apparently taken this long for the appeal to fail.
 
Never been before but was looking forward to trying it this year for fear of if not being open next year! That's that out of the window then!!

I am gutted but like others have said , it is just one party and I won't let it ruin the rest of my time there, I'll just have to find something else to do that day!
 
I won't be letting it ruin my holiday and it certainly wouldn't effect my desicion to come again in the future, as you say Ibiza is more than just one club, its just a damn good one unfortunately and is a proper shame! I was looking to donning my enourmous sunglasses and dancing in the sunshine :lol: :(
 
It just seems to me that ibiza is losing it's free spirit bit by bit. Yes the mulletover party was great last year, but it got closed down at 2am. The cocoon afterparties are no more after last years' got closed down after 1/2 hour.

All the cheap / free parties are the ones that suffer, and for me those are the best and most fun. I hate what Space has become - it rips you off from the moment you walk through the door. And the ever expanding VIP areas in Pacha? Don't get me started.

I'll still go to ibiza because i have the history and memories of going for 12 years, but younger folk nowadays simply can't afford it and will sooner go to croatia or similar for 24 hour partying in the sun. We'll just be left with rich ageing eurotrash, who imo do NOT make a good party, sorry.

Seems to me that the the authorities' plan for turning Ibiza into the new San Tropez is working only too well.

Croatia? Not at the prices I've seen for Dubrovnik during high season! I'm going next month and paying twice as much for my hotel as usually I do in Ibiza!

Trying Croatia out for the first time this year and it does sound the bomb!

However it was intention to go to Croatia over Ibiza this year but once again how could I resist a cheeky week over there!! See you all in September :lol::lol:

Minimum 4 weeks vacation a year by law in Russia :D
Although it's all about short trips, use of holiday weekends, mixing work trips & weekends off, etc ;)

But we digresss!
 
I was originally supposed to go over to Croatia for the Garden Festival this year, but it fell through and I couldn't resist coming to the whitle isle, a lot of my friends went there last year though and said it was damnazing 8)
 
the local govn last year ordered dc10 to close for 2
months because they felt they had failed to deal with drugs consumption within dc10 in 05/06

dc10 appealed and the palma court overturned the decision

the govn in Madrid have now overruled the palma decision

if you want to complain i would suggest you ask your san jose mayor or paco medina to write to madrid - assumimg of course you are a resident of san jose - otherwise signing an internet petition in english is just pi**ing in the wind
