DC10 - Very Bad News

gutted DOESNT COME CLOSE TO HOW I FEEL! REALLY ANGRY THAT THIS **** IS HAPPENING! DC10 IS THE BIGGEST SINGLE REASON THAT I GO TO IBIZA AND I SURE THAT THIS IS THE CASE WITH SOO MANY OTHERS!!!! TO MAKE THINGS WORSE THE DAY THAT THE BAN IS SET TO END AND DC RE-OPEN IS THE DAY AFTER I RETURN HOME!!!!! IM JUST HOPING THAT THE CLUB WILL BE ABLE TO PAY OFF THE AUTHORITIES OFF AS IT WERE AND CIRCOLOCO WILL BE BACK LONG BEFORE THE 57 DAY BAN!!!!!!!

I guess DC 10 should have toed the line, but I really don't see why they are enforcing this now when it could have happened earlier in the season or at the end of last season. This seems to be damaging to the whole island's economy and image, not just for the clubbers. I go regularly with the family and clubbing is a very minor part of our stay, but this feels a little arbitrary and petty.

Making a living is tough these days and Ibiza depends on all it's tourists.

It certainly takes away from that magical feeling that Ibiza is an accepting and open place, where the nanny state has not yet taken over, something that inspires all visitors there a bit, even if they never go to clubs...[/quote]

I totally agree!!

Dont count on September. there is a good chance the club wont open at all this summer if it is banned for 57 days, when 3 months are left...

They will lose too much money to open.

Of course I hope I'm wrong as I am also planning on going to the closing parties this year...

I am not a huge follower of DC10 , basically as its the one major place i still have not visited yet. This paints a bad picture for the Island, everywhere is experiencing a down turn in tourist numbers, a friend has just come back from Greece and the bars etc were much quieter there too. With DC10 closed think of the knock on for people employed locally , then people such as drinks suppliers, cleaners, accomodation, maintainence and other services this will hit. Dont get me wrong if a club fails to play by the rules or can't police itself properly it deserves to be punished, but to do this at this late stage will effect hundreds, probably THOUSANDS of people who will have made coming to DC10 their main aim of their visit. They have already bought their flight tickets booked their accomodation and possibly even bought their club tickets , this is petty and badly thought out by the authorities. All i can suggest is if someone sets up a well worded online petition that can be presented to the authorities explaining we agree clubs must face up to their short comings but the punishments should be propotionate and handed out and served rapidly.

This is absolute b*llocks
I got two weeks tomorrow.
I just spend £1157 yesterday getting 1400 euros for my trip. I have saved hard all year for this trip. I already spent £400 on the flights and accomodation.
I have accepted all the changes they made, which i honestly believe were for the benefit of the island and i was really looking forward to it.
Now i cant go to my favourite party.
And if amnesia closes i will miss my other favourites (cocoon and cream).

that will really make me feel like i have wasted my money.

this will be the last time i come to ibiza, its getting ridiculous now.
this is my 7th and final time.

they must see the damage there doing? if only 1000 people took the same stance as me that is £1,000,000 less spent on the island

you would think with the current credit squeeze and the high euro they would do everything they could to keep the tourists coming.

DC10 should be punished for flouting the law, but it should have been done at another time!

Im equaly gutted. Especialy since i have lived like a recluse the last month in order to get enough spends. At least you have seen the old ibiza without these cretins running it. I havent, this is my first time ever!!
Its going to be like going to egypt without the pyramids :x:evil:

I agree totally..Ibiza without DC10/Circoloco is :spank:...fortunately I haven`t booked my Ibizatrip aready.

You have to wonder is this the beginning of Ibiza starting to bite the hand that feeds it?, the consequences for the island could be catastrophic. Dont get me wrong nobody is above the law but take away the super clubs and big names and you are left with a lovely island (as it is now) but i dont think it would ever recover.

i'm not paying to sign a petition! **** me.

ibiza will survive without dc10, they know this. looking at the bigger picture, i have a feeling they're trying to change the demographic of the tourists that frequent the island during the summer - this news is a positive for that target group. i think it will prove beneficial in the long term. i don't think you could sustain growth long-term built on the back of a good clubbing scene.

i do feel like i've been shat on a bit now i've booked my holiday, as i'm sure others do too - but i'll still go, and i'll still have an amazing time.

this is all dreadful news but who set the petition up?
ive never paid to sign a petition in my life and aint starting here

waking up, checking facebook, 2 mails, ibiza voice, dc10 closed, me on the floor with a heart attack! i dont what to say, im lost for words....

you don't need to pay. i am a 'tard. just click through and ignore the donation bit, it still works - i've received a confirmation email.

i signed it and didnt pay. It asks you to make a donation to Ipetition at the end but thats your choice. I didnt pay anything and it said my signiture was registered

you just found 27 of them!

i'm picturing you, finger on the screen couting the words there Stephen

as bad as DC10 being closed is

1) it seems that they have f***ed up here big time, thinking they were invincible
2) 1 club doesn not make the island
3) the petition is pointless, even if the authorities look at it - they would merely chuckle on the way to clicking off the site/binning the paper
