I just looked at the Party Calendar and I saw this:

Mon, 6 October
Circo Loco Closing Party

Where is this confirmed?!?!

Even though it'll be a mistake to do the Circoloco @ DC10 closing party on the 13th of October (the island is emprty on those dates), i think that unfortunately their MySpace is more updated and accurate, thus the closing party will actually take place on the 13th :x

Please please please someone prove me wrong! :)

both dates wrong as seems like it will close one month earlier.....

 new legal process against dc10 the same day of its reopening
"dc10 surpassed again its legal cappacity, 68 people, during its reopening party last weekend and caused noise problems, the same reasons that provoked the closing of two months. the san jose town hall opened another legal process for the same reasons which could end up with a fine of 600.000€, double than the previous one. also, they could close dc10 for a year (.....). the previous closing dictated from the town hall will start from september 9th"

 dc10 elevates the number of people admitted to accident and emergency
"thanks to the elimination of the after hours they had to attend to less people, but this weekend, just after this vunue opened, they already noticed the increase"

i couldn't care for dc10, but that second article looks highly dubious.

i think its pretty safe to assume that dc10 will close on the 9th sep and not be open for awhile ;)

13th of October (the island is emprty on those dates)

just for clarification - dc10 was open before the season started and quite a few venues have summer closing parties, then a few weeks later have winter opening parties ;)

Before the reopening of the DC-10 medical emergencies highlighted the spectacular drop in the number of admissions for drugs in the hospital due to the disappearance of `after-hours' on the island.

and there is the reason (or the justification) for the after hours ban in a nutshell...

If this is the end, it's clearly no surprise, but I will be sad to see the place go. A few people have criticised it for being a bit of a dump, but for most of us that was a big part of the appeal, an antidote to the nicely packaged clubbing on offer elsewhere. My only regret is that I didn't go sooner, but the terrace was the scene of some of my best nights out. I agree that it didn't seem so cutting edge last year, but that's what happens when the sound you have championed for years takes over the world - would minimal be the force it now is if not for Circo Loco?
There's no point getting into a big debate about the reasons it is being shut down, most clubs walk a fine line at times and DC10 always leaned more towards the 'wrong' side as far as the authorities were concerned.
Somebody a few posts back said we console ourselves with the knowledge that there are still seven top clubs in Ibiza, but I'm afraid with DC10 gone and Bora Bora in a pretty steep decline over the last few years I can only count three. But then maybe that just means it's time to start working a bit harder, hunting out the smaller parties on the next visit.

from the ibiza sun:

DC-10 Order
The mayor of San Jose, Josep Mari Ribas, announced on Monday the closure of the controversial DC-10 club, pictured below, for a year. The action comes as the club completed its two month ban enforced back in June, for a series of drugs offences committed in 2006.
The sentence, which includes a €300,000 fine, was ordered for repeated offences involving noise pollution in the area, and exceeding the capacity of the bar which remains at 68 people. The mayor added that the "club" did not even possess a café-concierto permit, merely a bar license. The property has also undergone a number of extensions in annexes surrounding the main bar without the necessary permission being granted.
However, he confirmed the owners would be able to appeal against the ruling, meaning a visit to court, which was likely to take some time.
DC-10 was one of two bars shut for drug offences by the authorities, the other being Kumharas, in the bay of San Antonio. The third business threatened with closure remains Bora-Bora, although that ruling has been temporarily suspended while a court date for their appeal is set. However, Ribas was quick to point out that if the administration won the case, the ban would be served at their request, avoiding the closure being carried out during the winter months when the bar would normally be shut.
The comments by the mayor came as a documentary on channel Cuatro about holidaying habits around the country showed drugs being taken openly, close to Bora-Bora. Madrid's representative on the island, Sofia Hernanz, called the footage shameful and said her department would be reacting accordingly.
The councillor for social policies and health, Patricia Abascal, revealed her administration had sent a formal complaint to the television channel to complain about the report. She added that the number of cases involving drugs at Can Misses were actually down this year in comparison to both 2006 and 2007, although she said she was aware the fight had not yet been won, and more needed to be done to try and educate youngsters about the dangers of drugs.

I first went to DC-10 in 2004, wow wow wow wow, best clubbing experience EVER!!
Gutted I didn't go before as i've been visiting the White Isle since '95.

Went back for the closing party in 2006 and to be honest it just wasn't the same, even though it was a closing party.
Been back to ibiza twice this year and was gutted there was no Circo Loco and after hours, but Cocoon (Villalobos and Locodice) more than made up for the fact that the legendary DC-10 was closed.

I'll miss you DC-10 but when 1 door closes another opens!!! (I hope):)

is it open for pandemonium?! i dont want to wait 15 minutes from ibiza to underground because of supersh*tmarxte! loved tania last year! hopefully will be open!
