DC10 - don't forget ear plugs?

Was at DC10 last Monday for circoloco party.

Got there about 7 ,great chilled vibe in the garden, good mix of a crowd, sunshining ,drinks flowing, all good so far...Art department played 7-9 and party was warming up nicely.

Can't understand why the sun terrace bass is turned up so much? Can't hardly make out the tunes even from listening in the garden? Lasted 2 mins inside, sound just crap. Seen 1 or 2 others holding their ears walking out of it.

Can understand now why people have the ear plugs in.....

Don't see the point in base & overall volume so high, what's wrong with space set up?

People think this is worth paying money for ?

Main room was ok to me btw.

DC10 and sankeys basement are soundwise the most terrible places on the island. only bass as in sankeys and only volume as in dc10. just plain stupid in my opinion.

Granted it's bit more advanced than this but surely the sound engineer should stand all round the room before the party starts, crank up the volume and make a decision that the volume goes no higher than xxx or it sounds shite?

I'm no sound engineer but I think you have to do that before the club opens and then check again and again as the night progresses. a dancefloor sounds completely different when it's empty / half full / packed.

I basically agree that, especially in dc10 (but not exclusively), they just turn the music up far too much - for nothing.

Yeah thats exactly what I'm saying, surely if everyone trying to dance can hear (or not hear anything) that it's too loud then so should someone who is supposedly a professional?

I think you are right, maybe a bit of cock fight in "I can turn the tunes up louder than you can.....".

It'll only end when one night everyone on the DC10 terrace goes deaf and files a lawsuit against them.........

Ive lent one of my earplugs to mrs diver in the past at dc10 terrace she dont wear them and i was worried that her hearing would be damaged

Surely the more punters, the more the sound is absorbed?
that funktion 1 geezer in space got the levels right when the club was empty:cool:

I'm certainly no sound technician or engineer but surely all the geezer needs to do is put the bag of gear down for 5 minutes, walk onto the terrace and hear that the sound is shite?

^the sound system on dc10 terrace reminds me of a club used to go to early 90s on a Thursday for their "house" night.
All they did was crank it up to 10 (as oppose to 7/8 on the weekend shirt n tie nights)
must have thought everyone into house music needed deafening. Sure thats where all my damage was done?
(mr smiths, Warrington if anyone went?)

Can you have a word with the dc10 crew about it stivi?

All the hooligans, spaced on the pills who are into the house music, they've no idea if they're coming or going so we'll crank it up and commit death by deafening......o_O

I think sound is a bit like wine as you get older. I want less but better quality (unlike my taste in women)

Last year went in to main room at about 7 o'clock, dj wild on, about 20 other people in the room, and it was so close to painfully loud.
