Danny Tenaglia Retires...

Despite what many on here proclaim, Pacha used to be a decent venue. Over the years the vip area has become larger and larger creating the very divisions the scene originally broke down. The upstairs chill area has become a disgrace due to the amount of space serving vips only. Not sure to what extent it affects other clubs but it has all but ruined pacha imho.

On the subject of the history of the scene, it would be interesting to know how many typical EDM - SHM fans have any idea how much influence house music/ ecstasy culture had on shaping the political and social landscape of Europe?

But how many house lovers know and understand the gay/black liberation movement and the roots of disco held as a shamanic ceremony in someone's loft?

It's all relative - some of us are just getting old :)lol:), and true music lovers can see through the commercial bull$hit.

 He's got the original neon paradise garage sign...wonder if it's a replica? (suspect not)

Lucky man - amazing space*.

* Not quite as nice as the bunker though.

Looking at the photo's its probs the same size as an office i worked in Midtown NYC , the rent for that building was nuts. I dread to think how much Danny has paid out over the years on that place but what place to have!

Adios Miho! For the last time children: This is not my retirement gig! I am not hanging up my headphones. I am not quitting or throwing in my disco towel. This is not the end. This is also not some kind of mad stunt either! It's just that right now in 2012 and after all confirmed gigs in May, I am simply taking a break to BE here in NY to move and go through music and vidoes and dream up some possibilities and taking some time away from the decks for a little while to figure out new ways and strategies to "continue" in being an entertainer and thoroughly enjoying each and every moment along the way! I would love to elaborate but I don't have any news to share just yet. Stay TUNED and have pazienza!! It will BE worth the while. PS: You are all going to BE a part of this process in building something new with me! I'm not talking about some new venue or nightclub either . . . . but probably at various roving locations . . . and a new way of enjoying ourselves and you know the possibilities can BE endless!! We just gotta take the time to get it right and get the right people on board that will make a difference. Many, many people are tired of the way (some) things are today, but IF we put all our underground heads together and stop complaining (including me) about what is wrong and just let that BE wrong because adversity is always gonna BE there . . And if it's right for others then let's let them all BE themselves too!! Opera, Rap, Grunge, Bachata . . . To each his own!! :) BUT let's take our wonderful energies and positive attitudes and build something fresh and new together like NEW YORK's has not seen since before half of you were even born! hehehe I will happily BE your Maestro and you are all the Be Yourself Orchestra!! >>> I wanna Hear Music in the Street! NOW PRANCE!! :)

A relief to some of us at least, DT is NOT retiring :D

Sounds like Danny is wanting to put on some mobile/ illegal raves, maybe traveling Europe like the soundsystems of old :)

DT has always been something of a drama queen, in the same way other dj's are known for as caners. His passion for the music has never been questionable imho. Maybe he is simply disillusioned (like many) that tripe like SHM are taking over the scene.

Who knows, but I'm glad I might get to enjoy his live music before I pop the clogs, call it an overdue day:lol:
