Danny Rampling

I just think the music scene is more fragmented and divided than ever, reflecting wider society. Let's not kid ourselves it's just Rampling. He has a lot of sympathisers out there, well-known people in music too. Proper rightwing with massive chips on shoulders. They're not people I know or have mutual mates with but they also claim dance culture as their own. Some of them even post on this forum. And it is problematic for anyone who still sees this community as a 'family'.

The sad truth is a lot of people in their 50s and 60s took a lot of drugs for a long time and swallowed the 'class of 88' kool aid, somehow imagining normal life didn't intrude. The unity of acid house was a mirage from day 1 but people didn't notice or chose not to. Then the internet arrived and allowed a lot of thick people to believe they weren't that thick and hey presto..

The faultlines have been there for years but it's so obvious now who is who before you even click. Covid is what really brought home the divisions for me, the idea that some people were selfish whilst others were not. The basic bottom line in all of this.
