Dance 88/89 Sankeys

If i can throw this in there on a completely selfish level (and the fact the meet me forum is empty) i am a 40 yr old travelling on my own for a fortnight (hall pass) and looking for like minded individuals to have a good chat/dance with.. msg me if youre arround between 7th-20th august!

I am a bit cynical about this night (cos I've been to a few too many Back to '89 style nights in London) but I will concede that Bushwacka still has his finger on the pulse (as ElMooreo said) and does select/mix it up very well (PROOF HERE > https://soundcloud.com/justbebushwacka/live-at-shoom-december-2012

If he gets to call the shots and is allowed to programme the music it may be very good and I will freely eat my words.

However...

there's at least one 'legend' on the summer lineup though on there (who I won't name..) who I have met and is just a middle aged bloated cokehead - booked purely on his reputation 30 years ago - who I guarantee you will just trainwreck his way through his collection of tesco classics CDs like an uncle at a wedding

Out of order mate, Bob Sinclair is not on the gear.......:eek::D:D

Sounds very exciting despite me being one and two years old respectively in those years.

Hopefully will knock spots off your Ushuiaias in terms of atmosphere, ego and clientele.

that is a good review. i would probably go mental if I heard that Orb track and some of the less obvious ones.

I still have doubts over whether I could personally sustain an entire night of nostalgia though, which is why I'm hesitating

Big fan of Carlos Hawthorn.
Think Bushwacka and Mr C will be the ones to watch here. Hopefully Rampling will pick up

Buswacka is quality dj, don't like how he tries to dj under the alias 'just be' now though. I wish I was in ibiza for a Wednesday I would definitely go to thus night.

Rampling was asked the question recently if he would be playing old classics or modern day stuff at a gig he was doing in the UK. He said it would be modern as older crowd don't want to hear the classics every time they venture out!

A night badged as taking you back to the old school and Rampling turns up with a Macbook & plays two tracks from the start of 2016...yes that's what we all came to hear!

Take him off the line up and it will probably be a decent night.

If I go to this night I hope it isn't tunes 'exclusive' to the years 88'89, as shady South American mentioned, I don't think I could handle that all night. If they mix it up with some classics from the 90s right through that would work much better for me looking at it from a purely selfish point of view.
