Cream 2017

What sort of stuff is Eddie halliwell playing these days? Haven't seen him play in about 8 years. I'm there on June 15th can I look forward to some trance or is it mostly EDM

he did do some retrospective gigs last year at Godskitchen and Goodgreef, but if I'm honest I wouldn't expect that again, much more likely to be EDM versions of trance

Yeah that's what I expected really.. I'm a huge trance fan so it's sad to see so few proper trance nights on the island these days.

Depends on how 'Fired Up' Eddie is. Seen him a couple of times lately and he's been 'alright', bit of trance, bit of big room.
He went through that period of just big room only, he seems to be past it... but that could be because he's been playing proper trance events

What's the turnout been like at Cream so far? It is up against some great nights on Thursday elsewhere

the opening was very busy last week. not sure about last night, haven't heard any reports yet. possibly a little quieter (week two normally is). I personally have no doubt it'll be another very good season for them. there are other nights on thursdays of course, but none of them is the same music really.

Was there on the 16th June, Great night but wasn't anywhere near packed.. Wandered into the terrace at about 4.30am and it was deserted. Loads of room to walk around and dance all night in the main room.

Orjan Nilsen and menno de jong played great sets but Eddie halliwell played a remix of love parade that i cannot find anywhere anyone that was there know what it was???

So I went last night and both rooms were surprisingly busy. I was surprised because I wasn't if the terrace would be filled because the only draw really was Fatboy Slim, but it was, plus the reports I got here of the night being slow.

I had this urge to see PVD in Ibiza so I crossed that off my list...music was great in both rooms. Busy but still room to move. Aly and Fila, PVD, and Ferry were all great, really great fast paced trance. Children was played twice, each by ferry and PVD. Dismayed they only did 1.5 hour sets tho argh.

Crowd was good! I managed to get one of Fatboys air horns and used it in key moments to hype the crowd lol.

Found that after Slim finished his set it started to empty......Loads of room at 5am in the terrace.....Divine cut music at 6am to a crowed of about 100 then main room stopped 5mins later

Terrace I'm sure ended before main room. Terrace was busy for Danny Howard and Slim I didn't check it out after slim.. Main room went till 630. Busy until 5 AM is decent..they needed one more big name for terrace for it to be busy

More thoughts...feel this is an underrated night. Maybe it's cuz I was begging more melodies and breakdowns because tech based music is everywhere in Toronto and ibiza.

It was a nice night and crowd was friendly. Usually there's some jerks at Cocoon. Gonna see how Music On is tonight woot

cream underrated? maybe here on the forums (and a lot of us are 'old farts'). but it's not for nothing cream has been on the island for two decades - it is an institution of a club night, simple as. it might not be the flavour of the month on here, but it's a hugely successful night and there's a reason for it!

can't agree to the jerks at cocoon comment though. not because I'm a fan of that night, but really objectively seen I think that when we're talking tech nights they have a great crowd...

Yeah I guess on this board it is underrated. And for cocoon, I dunno July last year with Luciano there were some pushy ppl, so that's where I'm coming from...

What style did pvd and ferry play, edm or proper hypnotic trance? It's been a while since I heard them but they were both knee deep in edm territory back then.

Pleased you had a good time. Sounds like cream maybe having a bit of a renaissance after a few quietish years in my experience.

First Year on the Island was 2003 and I did Cream. I remember Tiesto playing Traffic but the star was Tall Paul, amazing set. I was sat on one of the Camels on the Terrace about 6am and was told the night was over and we had to leave. Unreal night and I've been back to Amnesia for Cream ever since

I'm pretty sure the Camels have gone. Am I right??

No EDM at all from any Dj in the main room. Very trance and prog. Ppl were loving it. Friendlier folks than usual Amnesia events

camels have travelled from amnesia and are now at cova santa I believe.

I also believe cream nights when I still was a cream lover...in july 2004 I got pvd and tiësto in one and the same night. loved it back then!

That's great to hear. Always a friendly crowd at cream Ibiza. Delighted to hear no main room edm - may have to give it a go if it's proper trance again. Glad you had fun.
