Corruption within the staff and security?

If they were innocent, the security have no leverage to bribe them for 50 euros
While I'd expect it they have enough marks who are 'guilty' and carrying, would a bouncer willing to extort a bribe from someone in that camp have any moral objection to claiming he found the last payer's package on an innocent punter reluctant to pay? Common sense says genuine 'offenders' are less likely to argue, but it's late, the bouncers been sampling what's he caught people with...bit of a wild west that time of night....

What are the chances of someone walking out of a cubicle in Ibiza that hasn't entered that cubicle to do more than take a piss or shit?.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but let's not pretend the victims are innocent here. If that happened to me, I don't think I'd complain, things could end up a lot worse.

Fair point. That would be really scummy but I really would doubt that happens to people not holding anything, when you consider 9/10 people in the clubs usually are

It is an unwritten rule... don't take the piss and you will have a great night.
If 'things could end up a lot worse'. then really what we are saying is get sniffer dogs on the doors, and drug test every clubber that enters and leaves the club. Then watch Ibiza fail. That is 'things could end up a lot worse'.

No, what I mean is I could get searched by the police, roughed up by the Guardia etc.

Unwritten rules mean nothing in legal terms and whilst drugs are what makes the party scene what it is in Ibiza, it's still illegal and security/establishments need to be seen to be doing something, to cover their own backs. That thing, however, shouldn't be corrupt security guards trying to make some quick cash

So I have just received a second email from Defected in response to what I sent and it seems like they are taking it seriously.

The second email response is as follows

"I just wanted to follow up on the progress of this escalation.

Thank you once again for getting in touch, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. As you know our community’s experience on the dancefloor is of utmost importance to us, so we are speaking with the team at Eden, who manage the club’s security, to investigate these circumstances.

We will be in contact with you again via email in due course, in the meantime if there are any further details you can provide about what you saw, please do send.

Thanks"

Fair play to them

Sounds like a response you would expect from them and the club. I’m sure they all know what’s going off in the club, and whenever it’s brought to their attention by a customer / outsider, they will reply along these lines to cover themselves?

I was in the zap club in Brighton many years ago in the toilet having a piss, and a bloke came up next to me and started pissing but also pulled out a bag and started doing keys of the powder (all while pissing with no hands), next thing I know the bouncers bursts in, grabs the bloke and pulls him out the toilet across the dancefloor and out the club, all while his trousers were round his ankles and still pissing! One of the weirdest things I've seen in a club!

Mmm...how inclusive was their Dubai adventure?
not sure about Defected, but I was speaking to Jenn Getz & Alfie who live there and throw LGBT parties and they reckon the gay scene is thriving, albeit bordering the line of legality

Sounds like progress!

There are some words on Dubai's gay scene in this article (from 2009). And, yeah, I know some people have issues with Johann Hari.
