I can see a big uprising brewing if they go ahead with that. It's the sort of policy which can be the death knell for a Government and pave the way for domestic extremists to capitalize. It's not looking good on many fronts right now and I am beginning to worry that 2020 will turn out to have been a blessing compared to 2021. I think at many times over the last year we’ve thought “there will be an uprising”. But then it ends up with 100 people from the extreme left (everything is US /Trump fault) and extreme right (everything is China & EU’s fault) protesting.

Yesterday the U.K. Health Minister was suggesting Tier 4 until Easter and all vaccinated. I just think people will flip before then. We all get and supported protecting the elderly and vulnerable, but still having to be locked down after that is going to be a hard sell for governments. Deaths under 40 are in the 100s. And with NO pre existing conditions they are probably under 100. After Jan/Feb when the elderly have been vaccinated, people won’t be able to shout “lock down to save granny”.

Parts of this lock down just suit too many people. The streets of London are clear at 2am - less crime, less police needed, no nightclubs are bothering residents at 6am. Air pollution is at decades low levels as we aren’t flying (Greta is happy). Governments able to implement laws with next to no challenge to “save us all”. God, I’ve turned into a conspiracy theorist. Help! But I just don’t think (unless this new strain is more serious) people will keep taking this.

I think the gov would love all those things to come back (except crime, but then they can't look tough on crime if ain't as much to be brutal about). Thinking of the £££.

Till easter will defo make people go nuts. Was taking to someone in Aus, they said it's going to be tough as been told to wfh in their state. I replied, UK: hold my beer ?

As for schools, defo playing a part, but during lock down rates came down massively (esp in north) but schools where open. So what going on? Kids catch and spread it to their household, none lockdown household go to work or whatever and re-spread it? ?‍♂️?‍♂️?
 
I don't think deaths are the real issue, they have become a number that just ticks up at this point

It's that lockdowns are the only way to stop acute hospital care collapsing. If we let this get at all out of control itll happen really quickly. No government is going to have ambulances not arriving and scenes of people dying in hospital car parks.

I honestly don't think they want the Nightclub industry back, many are owned by shady characters and at best there's always been a bit of a 'cash going under the till not in it' culture going on which the taxman doesn't like. Similar but less organised is the DJ and events industry. Add in the late night policing, street cleaning etc and im not sure any of it brings in much money to the treasury. They'd be happy with Pubs shutting at 11 again.

Yes it's major Reset of everything is what they want. It's not working out as of planned. People are waking up to see what the bigger picture is and realizing that they aren't part of it.. will be a very interesting week..

A cursory Google search says it's been widely reported by UK news sources. Do you have lots of sites blocked?

Woah, woah, woah. No one is endorsing or applauding any of the actions of a totalitarian government who are well known for repressing various minority groups, that's a big jump to take there.
