I see a steady decline in the Spanish case numbers, if this carries on they should be back to summer levels by 5 - 6 weeks if it's a steady fall. In the UK we appear to have peaked but we need to start to get the figures declining significantly; but the current lockdown (with education open) ends next month so I can't see us doing a "Spain".

yeah it does currently seem as if we're on the right path - that said the amount of new daily cases is still far too high in most areas in spain plus in lots of areas we have lots of restrictions (night curfew, bars/restaurants closed in some places too etc). and the death toll is at its peak right now (or at least I hope it won't go higher than that). but again, I hope the move in the current direction continues. am not sure we'll be back on summer levels that soon though.

I'm trying to find the article from few years ago when 2 lads took a penguin from the zoo and brought it to a birthday party in some Dodgy bar. There's video of the penguin on the dance floor ?. They Left him in someone's garden then and she rang the police... It was returned unharmed

The zoo here is fairly close to some rather posh housing. Last summer, they complained as the penguins were too noisy whilst shagging

Hancock et al knew all along, otherwise they wouldn’t have spouted the December 1st roll out start date.

TBH - and I'll be genuinely happy if I'm proven wrong - I doubt a lot of restrictions will get lifted before the new year in most countries in europe. because if they do, everyone will get together for xmas etc and come mid january there will be yet another spike and all the efforts taken now will be worthless.

dull forecast I know but it's what I think.

It’s obvious the biggest cause of these new cases has been workplaces and schools yet they’ve tried to look like their doing something by shutting bars and small businesses it’s completely backwards. People are definitley still gunna get together over xmas no matter what....

is it really schools though? the spanish government at least says it isn't.

and yes, of course people will get together for xmas. but with restrictions in place probably a little less than without them.

schools/unis/colleges here have been confirmed to be some of the biggest causes for spread in cases (i’ve got that info off pie charts/graphs i’ve seen). In the NE were in a worse place now than we were back in spring and we’ve been in tier 3 of lockdown/ nationwide lockdown for a combo of at least 6 weeks i’d say....only places to remain open throughout? ‘Essential shops’, places of work and schools....

Does the pope shit in the woods? Course it is, but no-one up top has the bottle to admit it. In october they were on telly saying the places spreading the virus were from "uncontrolled noisy cramped environments with people running around mixing". He meant- wrongly in my experience - pubs. It does describe a classroom/school to a tee.

My mate is a teacher and got it a few weeks ago & gave it to his wife and kids and had to isolate for 17 days until they’d all got rid of it
