Think I've got more skirts than pants. The women's areas are open here on teeside for clothes at M&S and Asda home ..the mens are closed off
Rude
There are probably going to be severe restrictions on bars, if they are open at all.I do hear the frustrations about gyms being shut extended, and I think everybody should be putting pressure on their local MP to ensure that gyms are exempt moving forward, but putting people into a lockdown over Xmas (that they're going to break anyway) is another action that will cause a lot of misery to people's mental health
I'm with you on that one - all the stuff you can do there you can do at home with the right gear. But it probably is the social aspect, a chance to ogle others!I just don't get the deal with gyms.. can't you just go for a run or a hike and try catch glimpse of yourself in shop or car window.. it's hardly a social thing now with all the restrictions..
Im with you on the ogling, i probably wouldn't make it past reception...? There for I'm out..I'm with you on that one - all the stuff you can do there you can do at home with the right gear. But it probably is the social aspect, a chance to ogle others!
Let's be honest, most people who "celebrate" Xmas in the UK don't do so for religious reasons, it's because we all get time off work at the same time. That's something you can get behind no matter your religion
Mix for a few days and have the rest of winter in lockdown, or relax the restrictions a little bit but throughout winter? I'd go for let's put the whole country on level 2 from Dec 2 to spring; and adapt if cases rise/fall. Allow people to travel (abroad if they wish) but let the bars open until 11-11.30 to prevent the mass gatherings when they shut at 10.Totally agree with this - I don't know one single individual that celebrates Xmas for religious reasons, it's universally viewed as a bank holiday and a chance to get together with your nearest and dearest at the end of the year and have some time together with plenty of food and drink!
Everyone's had a pretty horrific year at a best-case and has had to make huge sacrifices in their lives on various levels - the bare minimum the government can do is allow people to mix for a few days to have some rest bite with another few tough months of winter ahead!

It's a tough one. It needs to be thought through and responsibility placed on individuals, which we can all agree is gonna cause problems, because a lot of people are idiots. Regardless though, idiots are going to be idiots no matter what the official restrictions areI see this, but also think allowing a 'normal Xmas' and that what people will take this as, no matter what guidlines are given, says get you old and vunerable and sit them in a room with your kids who have been mixing every day since early September.....

Same in Germany, my friend is a nurse in a Berlin hospital and she said during the first wave it wasn't too bad where the worked, this time round she said it's far worse. The original post was a load of bollocks, as usual. Can only speak for experience in UK but the second wave is definitely disease driven here
I just don't get the deal with gyms..
Back to work today and missing quarantine already
Id be happy with gym and grass roots sports for all being allowed in January.
