Regional gov relaxed rules on thurs saying seated events + 50% capacity were ok. So everyone obv got excited and started putting word out but then today (for reasons not specified) the gov said no. The issue here is calamitous policy making. You can't mess people around like this. The bars can't plan, book, hire or anything. Such a mess. People get the health angle but not the terrible policy communication.
Likewise here. Some of the policy decisions are total nonsense. The delivery messaging of them is even worse.

probably the same everywhere. We’re all making this up as we go along, I do struggle to see how people can reasonably expect governments to have much a coherent strategy and policy direction in managing all this. Even the scientists are all arguing with each other about what’s going to happen, nobody has a clue

News in the UK that the 10pm curfew they made up will be altered, instead of being thrown onto the street at 9.59pm, you are allowed to drink and eat up what you have bought until 11pm. That's better, but I stil think some establishments will see how many are in at 10.20 and if it's only a few it will be "drink up and f*** off". But it's something, still treating us like kids though.
And if more areas are in tier three, it won't matter anyway, as soon as you've eaten your last chip out you go. Bloody ridiculous,

have you seen the latest horse sh1t they’ve came out with?...pubs will be allowed to open (up to tier 2) but only if they serve substantial meals with drinks:lol: my mind is boggled by the control
These morons think they have on people

But you can go in a supermarket along with many more people where you touch many more different surfaces? It’s a joke

Yes, I've just read that this morning. Tier 3; nothing. (Which my area will be in). Tier 2, the old tier three (food with your beer), and Tier 1 will be "normal" "ish" up to 11pm.
Yet the kids can still rampage around schools, buses and people's homes.
I just hope we can travel in the new year so I can get outta here and have some freedom.

This is also really unfair for pubs that don't have the facilities to serve food.

It's going to massively advantage the chains like Wetherspoons who have already got a monopoly, and put smaller businesses yet another step closer to closure.

Day 20.....

Lungs still tight, head very fuzzy and can't concentrate. Fatigue bad, gasping after stairs and if I do too much next day is a right off. At this rate I just hope to be well by Christmas (not that I'll be doing anything ?)

Recommendation - don't let run rampant through society

A lot of multinationals or larger companies can ride the storm. Small businesses are less able to. That equals more control after the pandemic.

shit. I hope you'll feel better soon. three weeks almost already :(

Boris going to announce the new rules today at 5pm, if my area gets put into a tier where pubs can open but must serve substantial meals, does that mean you have to order food? Or does the pub just have to have a menu? Is it a requirement to be allowed to open to serve food? or is it down to the customer?

I'm sure this will all be made crystal clear during the announcement (ahem)

3 - 3.30pm I've heard, maybe the first part's the HoC and the 5pm on telly. Won't be good news; we're stuffed for some time yet. Just hope I can get to watch my football team, I have a ticket for the 5th Dec.
