I hope they can win it... the cup means little to the scousers but it'd be such a big deal here. Half the city was partying when they won the UEFA cup.

It's just that the SuperCup would have meant a lot here. You should have seen how happy people, even supporters of other teams, were after the UEFA Cup came to Russia for the first time.

The scousers don't really care about this cup. And in reality they lost. But that's football, I guess. Can't believe even the linesman didn't see that.

liverpool controlled the game but lacked the cutting edge until cisse came on. moscow went ahead very much against the run of play. it was a dull game but the best team won. nothing confusing there.

Just because you had more possesion does not make you the better team. That's how CSKA plays. They have a great defense with wunderkind 19-year old goalkeeper Akeinfeev, veteran defender Ignashevich and the twin tower Berezutsky brothers, so they let the other team have possesion and hit back on the counter.

Liverpool did not play "better". CSKA played the same way they did all the way to the UEFA cup and looked Liver's equal. Cisse (great player, by the way) got a cheap goal that shouldn't have counted. End of story.
