Not sure what more I can add to the above, and being a Cocoon and Pacha fan, I am biased towards both. I can only go my group of people, and the Wednesday thing is just a no-no with regards to weekends. People are now doing 2-3 night-ers (some friends are even doing 1-night stays), and Wednesday simply is not compatible for this.
My observation is that some of the Cocoon dates have just seemed like Sven +1. Of course that is great for long sets etc, but so many of the +1s are the the DJs that you would also get at Solomun. Is it just too similar a night?
I'd be intrigued what
@white_isle_calling and
@stivi say, but have the Villalobos, Hawtin, and the nights where Sven has invited more emerging artists like Peggy Gou been the ones that have attracted more attention? How much pull does a Sven All-Night-Long have these days?
On a wider Pacha question, I think some of the nights just feel stale and not different enough to others. I'd be intrigued how Labyrinth is performing Vs the old Insane nights. I'm not 100% convinced in an international orientated club like Pacha if HS82 is who you want as a headliner?
Paris By Night? Look at the branding of that Vs say Glitterbox! Pacha need to be putting on nights like Glitterbox - the freaking club is made for a pure house night like that. Bob Sinclair feels like some early 00s DJ on tour.
I've not been, but it seems they have managed to do a pretty good job with 'Mars' on Tuesday. Not my DJs, but the night feels different to other nights on the island.
Solomun is obviously working well as always.
