Cocoon @ PACHA discussion

Okay, so after seeing Sven 3 times in 3 days (plus IMS and the all night at Pacha in early May) it's clear already what his go-to tracks are. To add to the above:

Patrice Bäumel - The Hatchet
Robert Hood - Red Machine
Margot - Salsce
Gregor Tresher - Substance
 
so sven played wednesday, thursday and friday in ibiza, saturday a secret appearance at a croatia festival and finally sunday at the pool sessions in hometown frankfurt. I saw him on this last of 5 sets in a row and he was fresh and mixed a flawless, perfect techno set. what a machine :)

favourite track was HARVEY MCKAY - black dolphin. what a monster!

Yeah great track.

First heard it at WHP Drumcode where Mr Beyer smashed it out.
 
He seems to be fairly sober for most of his sets now though, settled down a lot. Or am I wrong.
 
I think Sven still has his moments - very rare to see him in a sober state after Cocoon closing or at the afters! I think he just picks the time and dates to let loose.

Me neither! My first time at Pacha, not a bad night for it.

I second the jealousy, I feel like the second go around after the opener is always solid and a little less crowded so you get a nice vibe without being crammed. But I do have to ask what exactly everyone loves about Gerd? I'm not hater by any means by I've caught him a couple of times both in Ny and abroad over past few years and was never overly impressed. I certainly understand his range as a dj is appealing, but at least the last time I saw him here in Ny around winter time, his set was all over the place. Genuinely interested to hear thoughts on him.

Saw him once in DC10 garden week 2 last year (the set is on soundcloud) and it was without a doubt the best set I’ve ever heard are Circoloco. Heard a few other mixes of his and every time it’s been great.

Whenever I’ve heard him play he seems very versitile, but always plays a very solid set.

I'll give that DC10 set a listen and see how i feel after that, maybe I just caught him on lazy/travel days.
