Cocoon @ PACHA discussion

Pacha, on the right night, is the best club in Ibiza IMO. If the refurbishment improves it, then this will be nothing short of f***ing awesome.

I’ve been going to Ibiza since 95, did Manumission, Clockwork Orange, Space mornings, the lot. Solomun at Pacha however is right up there in my top 5. So I can’t see Cocoon being anything short of amazing.
 
Amnesia has been my favourite club (in the world) since the 90's, but we have to trust Sven on this one. A refurbed/revibed Pacha is probably the only other viable option on the island to house a 2018 cocoon. Ive only been to pacha once but enjoyed getting lost in all its nooks and crannies. Obviously money/numbers impact this decision somewhere but Sven cares more about cocoon than we do so would only move in cocoons best interests. I was lucky enough to go to cocoon at Privilige, the vibe is definitely transferable and im more likely to try cocoon at pacha than I am a non cocoon night in my beloved (but increasingly money/numbers orientated) amnesia......Im sad but also intrigued (and im sure sven will pop up at amnesia in the coming seasons even if he has a clean break this year).

I just simply can't imagine it anywhere but Amnesia...and especially not Pacha! I'm ready to be proved wrong however
 
I'm obviously like everyone else truly gutted to see Cocoon depart Amnesia. Sooo many good memories attached to the pair over the years. Memories to cherish!

I honestly can't remember the last time I entered Pacha (their nights have never really appealed to our tastes) but I do recall a lot of people talking it down as regards to a clubbing space!

I guess I'm kinda lucky in the sense this suumer I'll be able to enter Cocoon @ Pacha (refurbished) with a clean slate.

I for one am excited. I'd sooner see Coocon move to a different clubbing space on the island than have no Cocoon at all.

I have stayed there a few times and don’t know what your talking about. €150 a night for 3. What you been smoking... double that for a start and then a bit more..
 
When Cocoon had to move to Privilege that was really good, from what I remember it was only for 2 months then Amnesia was allowed to open again, so the vibe is transferable, I think it will work really well at Pacha but I expect it to get mad busy, maybe even more busy than a FMIF night

I can't lie this did also cross my mind as I've always had Amnesia guestlist with discounted entry. Maybe @mr_why can't help since he does work there after all :lol:
 
Love Amnesia for it's old school warehouse rave vibe, but also love Pacha for it's original Ibizan finca vibe.

Ben Turner on Instagram has actually said there will be "less VIP" after the refurb, so fingers crossed for that.

And Cocoon has consistently played the best techno on the island for almost 20 years.

What's not to like ?

Things evolve... Nobody should sit still (in Ibiza) for too long - the island of seasonal change, transient youth and the most intense of party politics. Sven was walking the streets of this island before most passing judgement were born, so you would hope people will trust his conviction to move on. This is a great year to arrive at @pachaofficial - new owners, new design, full refurbishment, less VIP, and venue bookings overseen by the highly professional and musically-astute @jesscapaz. Not an easy job in such a male-dominated industry on the island. This could be a really positive partnership for the next chapter of Sven and Cocoon’s incredible career and for Ibiza. Pacha isn’t for everybody but I spent some of the best times of my life on that roof terrace. IMS was conceived there, and it was this club that defined the true spirit of Ibiza before any other club was built.
 
Cocoon will always = Monday in my eyes, until such time I can become accustomed to a different night of the week.

But I am totally cool with Wednesdays. I have no interest in Paradise. And even Hyte for the past few years was an unattractive alternative
 
Could Paradise's lineups suffer from this as they sometimes had a lot of guests who played at Cocoon too?
 
With only one main room of headliner(s) the smaller capacity of pacha might work out perfectly for demand, especially if the dancefloor is enlarged by the refurb...............

that would be great news for my personal double header: never went to dc10 before cocoon. always jon sa trinxa on the beach till sundown for me, before heading over to amneisa. and going by the last years jon also plays wednesdays :)

also - what hasn't been mentioned before: the move is great news for drinkers like me :) wodka/bull 23 euros at amnesia, at pacha it's 19 or 20.
