Cocoon @ PACHA discussion

My view is for at least the last five years is that Amnesia is the best club and Cocoon best night in that club, second Solomun at Pacha. So a little bit sad on the news.

Also I’m much more in to techno compared to house recently, which I still love, and Cocoon at Amnesia best place for techno in ibiza.

you actually couldn't be further from the truth.
just give it a chance this summer. maybe you really don't like it, but I think there's a fair chance you will. I'm the same underground lover as you are but I've had a lot of good nights at pacha in the last 5 years, ever since they opened up to more 'underground' styles of music.

O.K. but as i told you i have never been to Pacha. Diebels and Pacha don't fit. I only heard over the bad soundsystem ten years ago and that you needed toilet paper for your ears. I dont like that VIP S**t. I started raving in 95 where a seat was a seat for all and nothing to rent for someones. 20 € for a mixer is also to hard. The best solution should be Space, a pre Party on the terrace with Sven, but...

HOW can somebody who has never been to a club make judgement if it fits or not.

I love Pacha..

I understand you have a predisposition against pacha. but saying it doesn't fit when you've never ever been...sorry, that's just bullshit IMO. yes cocoon at amnesia was my favourite night, but the very next night at amnesia was totally not up my street. it really is the same at pacha. there are commercial nights with lots of vips. and there are others. the same happened a few years ago when people suddenly realised that solomun's night at pacha REALLY rocks. lots of people here on the forums will admit they didn't think it could be good but they turned into fans.

I would go even further... even on the same night.. Pacha can be amazing with warm up djs like the amazing Lunnas Djs to the more commercial Bob Sinclair later on...

Yes of course maybe I’m a little bit prejudiced. But as quoted before i started in 95 and I don’t like that VIP style. DC 10 should be also a better solution for our wallets.

O.K. you got me Stivi. I will give Pacha a trial when I'm on the island. My last visit was in 2013. I know that the next night can be totally different. I have been to Matinee (for free of course, la leche, lol) and it was totally boring. I thought they have a different sound system in the main. You can give me Guetta VIP for free and I don't go. How much is Cocoon at Pacha? 70?

Not a huge fan of Pacha, horrible layout and the sound wasn’t all that great in a lot of places. Having that said, I had a great time there for Solomun. But for Cocoon to be anywhere as good as Amnesia the renovations at Pacha will need to be amazing.

i like this. although i dont think its the money...i'm open (after seeing the refurbishments) that pacha can work..lets see

What I will say is that I've seen cocoon and sven throw great parties all over the world. He and amnesia are so famous etc BUT I've seen him at lower key parties and smaller line up and its been fantastic.
All this bullshit about the past its gone! Totally gone ffs grow up and deal with it.
What will be be will be, it won' be shit to grow the f*** up and trust in a guy that is still one of the most amazing guys in the world f*** me.
Cocoon will be stronger then ever this time next year :cool:
 
While I would say initially I am not a fan of the move, I would consider myself lucky as someone coming from the States (and only since around 2012) to have caught Sven pull all nighters on both the terrace and the main room. Going to Cocoon at Amnesia was special for me, it was honestly one of the main reasons I ever decided to make the jump over and experience Ibiza. It's obvious Ibiza is changing quite a bit as others have said in just the past 2 years, things look A LOT different now than they did just 5 years ago and I know that things looked a lot different 5 years before that. So I think while the change is a little strange, as Stivi clearly stated and others as well, Cocoon are very careful in their planning and I dont think they would make a move just because of money or without considering every option. While I love Sven and consider him to almost always be on point, I think he would likely make even that much more effort in the night and his sets this year to prove this was no mistake. While of course a little cautious, I'm overly excited to see what the lineups look like and hope to get out there this year to witness the inception of Cocoon at Pacha. Not to be philosophical but change is the only constant, so you can get bitter about it or try and enjoy it for what it is, so ill for one try and enjoy it.

As for the whole Wednesday topic, it seems inevitable, especially if Solomun+1 remains at Pacha and on Sunday. Being back to back doesn't seem to make logical sense for either of them or Pacha itself. I for one am glad I didn't plan any trips yet because i wouldve done what many did and planned it around Cocoon Mondays. Good news is, if it is Wednesday, think of how many people will continue on to Paradise and give Cocoon a miss, leaving that much more space and enjoyment for those at Cocoon! Ok essay completed.

its not actually....get a room for about 150 euros...3 people get entry and nice breaksfast in the morning (no taxi), plus direct entrance...works out really well i've found.
 
Don't have much to say here, as I never been to Cocoon. I'm a big fan of Pacha do (actualy my better club in the Western world) and I must admit that I'm realy surprise by the news. I was scared of Pacha going in a more pop and commercial direction. Not a fan of Cocoon, but I know what it represant and I'm happy to see that Pacha has interest for that kind of night. May take a shot next summer. Maybe.
