Last night was so good.
Carl Craig in Room 2 was great. Felt like how I imagine some sweaty loft club in NY in the early 80s. Played a wide range of soul, dawn of disco era and Blaxploitation music. I loved it. Beautiful contrast to the main room, and very busy.
In the main room, Beyer played more melodic than usual. But the night didn't truly get going in there until Mr. underrated Ilario Alicante jumped on at 04:30. By this point the tourists started to empty out and the brakes were removed. Masterclass of a set that veered from the likes of Fideles and Denis Horvat to Thomas Schumacher and Sergio Fernandez.
Incidentally, he did play a few crowd pleasers (Koze Pick Up & KiNK Perth) when he really didn't need to. Crowd was already eating out of the palm of his hand. Didn't like these diversions so much. Although he nailed it later with Midland - Final Credits.
My favourite Cocoon at Pacha so far - perhaps, in no small part to it being the first time I've really let loose! I didn't arrive until 02:30, so didn't hear any of Ida. Musically, it may have been better last week (I didn't see Sven that night), but I always think the first night without him is an interesting date. On that barometer, Cocoon at Pacha is already a roaring success.
Another point from last night in regards to Paradise next week, looking around, I can't say I saw much overlap in demographic. So I am confident Cocoon at Pacha continues to be a success.
