Cocoon 2016

I'd normally be delighted with this lineup but got Sven, ilario, gaiser and slam at cocoon in Glasgow 2 days before this. Might give Monday night a miss and hit Maceo and hyte.
 
Would have liked to have seen a bit of variation on the past two years - but then again Dixon warming up for Sven, you can't get much better can you really?

I'm assuming Dixon will play from 00:00-03:00 with Sven playing a nice long 03:00-END set. Can't wait for this one, the absolute highlight of my opening weekend on The Island.
 
yeah it's the same terrace line up for cocoon opening the 3rd year in a row now, but it's by far not the only party doing that. how many years in a row coxy has closed his night with loco dice as guest now? various promoters have sort of a traditional booking routine...and if it works, why change a winning horse?

it's true though, be there very early and just enjoy how beautifully that night unfolds. dixon opening and then sven taking over is a great combo. can't wait.
 
I guess with reliable established nights and djs like cocoon and dixon lots of gigs for next season are already fixed with a handshake right after this years gig. come back next year? ok .. :)

Good point. Is this the money-men and accountants having their way?

Didn't Sven & Richie always do their "swap" on the 4th Monday & Thursday of August for example? Assume to do with that week being when numbers start to fall off a bit so they need a boost etc.

Think I could be tempted to jet in for 1st August...a few mates already planning a trip that weekend.

I've gotta be honest 01/08 is incredible... but the thought of Sven going 'All Night Long' in the club room on 22/08 is on another planet!

Looks like another fantastic year again for Cocoon.
 
I'm just looking at those line ups and am thinking 'f*ck me, the only monday I'm probably not going to amnesia this summer is 13th june'.
 
Yeah was just thinking 13th June really only week where you might not fancy it...still Tini has a decent following on the island so i'm sure will get a decent turn out
 
Scuba also really decent lately. He'll bang out the techno! You can forgive one "maybe" line up out of 16 odd, especially in mid June! Remarkable really
 
I got my wish in that it was just to catch Sven in the main room this year (Sept 12). But agree consistency is the perfect word to describe Cocoon, impressive as always. Only surprise to me was only seeing Dixon the one time (for the opener). Wonder if that means he'll be at a bunch of Afterlife dates or just see less of him on the island this year.
 
Going to the last two, so pretty happy to be getting Ricardo, Luciano, Beyer and Sven in that time. Class line-ups all the way
