"Supermodel work!......."
Have you ever been at one of Manuela's desfiles, Mackie? Hers are the funniest fashion shows I've ever been to. 8O

So far 2 "Haute Couture" shows by Manuela Parralo are planned for this season at la Troya. Do yourself a favour, Mackie, and don't miss out on them, you'll be stunned. Tirry is always one of the models, too (without the carrot ;) ). But THE supermodel (who comes out first and last as the bride :P ) is always La Manuela herself!!!! 8) 8) 8) No no no, she doesn't like the limelight at all :D

Have I said in this thread how much i'm looking forward to a few Coco Loco's at cocoon closing??!!!!!!

Along with Hierbass (thanks Ferd !!!), it's my fave Ibiza drink.

check this out..........

LA TROYA - YOU ARE REPRESSED!
Anthony D’Andrea (a-dandrea@uchicago.edu)
Published in Cultura-Native, n.2, Ibiza, pp.46-7, 2003.

La Troya imagines Ibiza to be as a queer space of transgression, liberation, and derailing transformation. As such, it performs the island in all of its highly dramatic and transgendered social glory. So explainsanthropologist ANTHONY D'ANDREA (aka Techno Tony).

Many consider La Troya Asesina to be the hottest, wildest party on the island. Crowds throng Amnesia'sentrance from early Wednesday night, and for hours after sunrise a continuous influx of cars still arrive atalready overcrowded parking lots. La Troya is usually well alive beyond 11am on Thursday morning.

Its popularity is largely the result of word-of-mouth in the gay community. The message is organicallycarried across the trendy bar, boutique, beach, sauna and gallery scenes of Ibiza town. But it would be amistake to label La Troya a strictly gay party, because ironically the sexy and transgressive componentsof its 'party concept' attract a wide variety of types: underground clubbers, bohemians, hippies, club-related workers, vampires, models, and jet-setters, plus other less perhaps flamboyant sections of theSpanish and continental communities. The general absence of British club kids is largely felt to be apositive by organisers and regulars of this post-gay queer party, which has become a wild success withoutneeding to tap into the mainstream tourist scene.

In contrast to other weekly parties at Amnesia, musical styles in both main room and terrace are basicallythe same at La Troya: House and Garage with sexy vocals, hot percussion, and Latin staccatos, leaningtowards an underground blend of big beats, 'f***ed House', and Euro pop in the morning hours. However, despite musical homogeneity, the distribution of peoples over the two rooms is clearly delineated in termsof style and sexual orientation. The majority of apparently straight clubbers tend to gather in the darker, more euphoric 'indoor' Main Room with its flashing lights and louder music, while gay males, model-likefemales and club eccentrics prefer to hang out on the glass-roofed Terrace, sipping drinks, socialising, and sizing up the 'talent' on offer, especially by the Coco Loco.

The Coco Loco is the most revered bar in Amnesia. Its gay staff serve a strong drink made of vodka, coconut milk, and a 'secret substance' - to this day confidentially mixed each night by club managerBrasilio, who created the drink as a variation of the caipirinha from his native Brazil. As a residue of club solidarity, coco loco drinks are given to 'friends' free of charge, whereas strangers and outsiders pay. "Itdepends on the face and the way they talk to me", explains Italian transvestite Tirry, an artist who's run the bar for years. Tall, thin and blond, Tirry wears a sex android outfit of red leather suit, high stiletto heels, and a black stripe painted across her eyes. During the night she may take a break to literally flyover the massive crowd by means of a suspended parachute chord and trapeze. "Oh wow, she is flying, man!"

Having arrived from Brazil in the late 70s, Brasilio (as he tirelessly explains, it's his real name) opened the original Coco Loco bar in the narrow streets of Ibiza Town's port area, serving just this onemysterious drink - offered for free, though patrons were invited to make contributions. The bar, staff, spirit - and 'Spirit' - were transported, first to Ku (now Privilege) in the early 80s, then later to Amnesia in 1999.

Brasilio brought an invaluable know-how of artistic and carnival production from his homeland. With ithe has long arranged an annual July parade through the streets of Ibiza Town as a promotional call to hisone-off 'Brazil' themed party. The parade features a huge float with potent sound system, plus some 200 figurants, percussionists, capoeira fighters, go-go girls, transvestites, and other Samba lovers, camply dressed in light feathered costumes - showing in public what you usually only see in private. Whilerefraining from comparing Carnival to Rave, Brasilio's background - enthusiastically backed by the gaycommunity - has been a significant factor in making first Ku (Privilege) and then Amnesia, majorhistorical reference points on the global clubbing landscape.

Inspired by Ancient Greco-Roman imaginary, La Troya's decorative theme evokes the idea of orgiasticbacchanalias - sexy gladiators and slaves dancing on podiums, amidst large red curtains, white silk, golden standards, and a king size bed to chill on. To wit, the original title of the party, when at Ku, was LaVaca Asesina (The Murderous Cow) - an argot among Brazilian transvestites, referring to the insatiablesex drives of a hyperactive transvestite, female, or gay male. Now La Troya Asesina (The MurderousTrojan) grants a penetrative and ambushing overtone to its already bestial references.

By 5am La Troya is still growing - underground clubbers and bohemians are just arriving to join abuzzing crowd already high on music and stimulants - shirtless males on the dance floor, 'cool' puntersand androgynous drinkers at Coco Loco... An unusual musical shift - a hot Techno of the type favoured by drag divas - heralds the arrival of a fat drag queen walking on stilts. Wearing a black big wig and leather, stark make-up, and naked breasts loosely hanging out, she mesmerises the audience with aprovocative style that's all tongues, looks and faces. Through a wireless microphone, she sings in Spanish:"You are oppressed. You are repressed. But I am your solution. To make all of your fantasies come true. Your desires. Your perversions. Come with me. Come with me. I am Ibiza. Ibiza. IBIZA!"
