Clubber murdered outside DC10 26.8.06

i don't really agree with that advice. a licensed taxi, which may be more difficult to come by, is stringently checked for mechanical soundness and is also insured for fee paying passengers.

I totally agree with you, given the option i'd go with a licensed taxi...but i was commenting on 'illegal taxis' only :) , i should have made it more clear.

I've been in illegal taxi's plenty of times and had no problems but this year i was in an illegal taxi from Bossa to Amnesia and it was the scariest ride of my life!! I seriously thought we weren't gonna make it round 2 islands and we only just missed a car!! the taxi driver was laughing like a mentalist all the way through and I nearly peed my pants!! after this I promissed - no more illegals!! it's not worth the risk for waiting for a real one!

yes yes and no insurance!! if you get injured you are not covered.

getting in an illegal taxi could ruin more than just your holiday.

as i said earlier, if you wouldn't get in a strangers banged up car back here after stepping out of a nightclub, why on earth would you do it on holiday in a foreign country?? the same reasons why people fly off balconies and have things stolen from them i guess.
