Circoloco @ DC10 2016

You can understand why ppl are thinking the worst of them, though.

I mean they are apart of the community. How did they get it so wrong?!

All they need do is have asked Seth? Or Ellen or Nicole, beforehand what they thought to have found out it was an ill-advised idea.

His comments were very strong indeed. Did he ever make a statement or apology over it, or say he was very drunk at the time or anything?

Why didn't he just say he got hacked?

I heard he made a production with a transgender vocalist to gain brownie points but I've never seen an apology.

I've never seen an apology.

That was a good response from him. Was awful what he said, but people are really jumping on the bandwagon with the hate. Maybe he was in a dark time when he said it, and has changed now as a person. It will be hard for him to be accepted into the industry again but I believe that he should be eventually. Forgive and move on.

I can't believe anybody is still trying to defend the guy!!

It was not a slip of the tongue. It was not a mis-judged joke. It was horrific, hate-filled bigotry. He meant every word.

As for people saying many are "jumping on the bandwagon".

Please f*** OFF!

What a mental thing to say. You have absolutely no idea. You are trying to defend the indefensible.

He has issued no genuine apology. He is not sorry. He is now trying to play the victim card.

Imagine if you swapped gay people out for, I dunno, black people??? Would you be so forgiving then?!

Second chances are for people who a) recognise their mistakes, b) apologise and make efforts to right their wrongs, c) accept some people will never forgive, d) dont play the victim card.

End of.

To answer your questions, if the words gay were swapped for black it would just be as bad in my eyes of it makes zero difference what groups those comments where aimed at.
Your other points a, b, and C, has he not done that? Is it genuine, who knows.
Point d, I don't know about that one if he is or not, he certainly has no right to play the victim. He is getting what he deserves I'm am in no way defending him, I'm just saying eventually people should move on, obviously that time is not now. He should probably forget about his music career.

And finally, can I politely ask you not to tell me to f***k off again :)

I know that he was probably booked months ago but for the love of God, with everything happening in the world and LGBT culture right now, it was a REALLY bad move by DC-10/Circoloco to keep him on the bill as long as they did.

I personally hope this guy never gets booked anywhere again but really it isn't even about personal viewpoints on the subject - from purely a business standpoint, bad move to have this guy on your bill at this moment in time. Patrons hated it and so did some of your most notable/frequent acts.

I watched an interview at the IMS with Set Troxler a few years back where he stated Circo djs only get paid 500 euros per set at DC10.

Is this still the case? Even with the likes of Carola and Solomon.

We had a heated debate about it last summer...I'm still owed a hierbas by someone out there!
We concluded that it is something in the region of €500 - but may have gone up a little now. I think most dj's like playing there and obviously they get looked after when they are there as well...plus its a Monday, how many better offers are you going to get for a Monday night??!!

Bet it's still cash-in-hand too!
