Yeah sometimes even a fairly cheesy tune can sound positively inspirational if its inserted at the right time in a good mix.

Have fun seeing Nic Fan tonight. You won't be disappointed trust me. Hopefully he'll also do the business in LA tomorrow 8)

ugh, theres one i cant think of that was out a few years back and was out number one for ages............think it was called superstar. cant remember who it was by though. and shooting star, dont remember who did that one either. :confused:

i think most of the tracks mentioned can be multiplied in their chavness by the DJ's MCing over the top. Usually done by some guy with illusions of grandeur. Last weekend I experienced some of my favorite all time crap quotes:

In a breakdown you can shout
"IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THEEEEEEEERE!"
This is generally shouted over 'old skool classics' (according to the dj) such as sandstorm and cafe del mar. The crowd responds with whistling.

General comments:
"got some old skool classics comin up TONIGHT!"
"got some funky ANTHEMS comin up TONIGHT!"
"single girls make some noise"

random shouts (intended spanish impression?)
"ariiiiiiiiiiibaaaaaaaaa"
"aaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiii lalalalalaaaaaa"

i think we need to separate clear chav anthems in the true sense (like anything by scooter or the "bass in the place london" genre) from tunes that have just become commercialised and overplayed and therefore been adopted by big 'towny' :evil: clubs.

call on me was the biggest tune on the terrace (behind flashdance) being played on a weekly basis in the early part of 2004 (even lola's theme was still going until july time).

others like spiller - groovejet :) , modjo - lady :D , etc, etc should not be victims of their own success.
 
groovejet and Mojo are good tracks, but as mentioned just a victim of their own over exposure. but castles in the sky and IaN vAN dAHL-ISH anthems - argh! :eek:
 
now i'm getting confused. can anybody define what is cool and what is uncool and why, as i am eager to recategorise my record collection?
 
agree IG,

ian van dahl and dj sammy are solely aimed at the commercial club and chart markets so thereby are definite 'chav anthems'.
 
so as our ibiza clubs are indeed commercial - their avowed intent is to relieve their clientel of vast wads of cash - are they full of chavs?
 
commercial doesnt necessarily equal chav....apparently (as im just learning about it) it has a lot to do with style, the way u dress and act and so on. apparently i can throw away my golden earrings and ill be crusified if Im ever caught, waering burberry (which i dont really anyway so)...
