Well that's Barcelona through after a 2-0 win over Werden Bremen @ Nou Camp,Bremen who looked like a different team from previous games not as good at all, also Chelski beat Levski Sofia to top the group, and Liverpool top the group as well despite losing 3-2 to Galatasaray in Istanbul.

Wednesday nite is a big one when Man United need a point against Benfica @ Old Trafford to ensure qualifaction which im sure they'll win,i wish them well, my beloved Celtic travel to FC Copenhagen having already qualified :D im sure we'll get at least a draw there anyway but a win would be nice to top the group, hail hail.8)

Firstly, drop the "Chelski" crap. It's tre cliche, stupid, and not even grammatically correct (and, I've always thought, a bit demeaning towards Russians). The club is called Chelsea FC.

Good match tonight. The Blues could have scored more but Levski put up a great fight.

Peeking over at the Barca-Werder game on another screen at the sports bar, it seemed to me like it was 20 minutes Barca and 70 mins Werder... but Barca showed great defensive work. People often forget they've got a very good defense to go with their famous attack.

Tomorrow will be interesting. I'm curious to see what'll happen in Arsenal's group... kind of hope CSKA go through, kind of hope they don't (as they'd do better in the UEFA cup)

ohhhh bit touchy tonite me aul flower :lol:how about rent boys then :p

Werder didn't take their chances at all and Barca deserved the win, i didn't have any preference anyway.

I noticed my adopted Spanish team Valencia were beaten by AS Roma 1-0 but they still top the group.

At this stage no one team sticks out as regards winning it,i don't fancy Barca again this year,Man United could well be a force to be reckoned with this year they are absolutely flying and i believe they will progress with ease tomorrow.

"Rent Boys" is only appropriate for Shevchenko (dear god.. he scored!) and Ballack (was he actually on the pitch tonight? Seem to recall his name on the teem sheet!). The rest you can call Chelsea FC, or the Blues if you prefer. :p

You're right about Werder. For all their control in the last 2/3 of the match, little trouble for the Barca keeper. But I think that's a testament to Barca's good defending more than Werder's lack of attacking skill.

Man U are looking great in the league, less so in the CL. Real and Lyon looking like forces to be reckoned with. I tend to think Chelsea are cursed in the CL so I haven't booked flights to Athens just yet. Also, you can never quite count the Italians out...

He was probably more upset that the team hadn't scored more, as they should have.

No one would begrudge SWP a goal... even if, as the newspapers write, he's going to be sold soon, it'd only boost his price.

The scoreline shouldve been 4-0 at half time! That run from Deco from his own area which lead to the Guddy hitting the post wouldve been the goal of the season.
Even in the second half when we were poor and Bremen controlled more posession we still had the best chance when Guddy missed a one on one.
Valdes's 1st save came in the 92 minute!

1st half we were outstanding, back to our best from last season. Ronnie's form is picking up, and with Etoo and Messi back for february im quietly confident again 8).

Cant see past Barca, Chelsea, Bayern or Milan winning it this year.

Lyon just dont seem to have the knowhow to get past knock out stages. As for Man Utd, theyre on decent form, but they havent met anyone big in europe yet, and in fact i cant remember the last time they had a win against a big European team.

I was only watching out of the corner of my eye, but everytime I looked up in the 2nd half (and the latter part of the 1st half), seemed like Werder had the ball. As stated before, though, Barca's defending was brilliant. I think that, at 2-0 up, they were more concerned with not conceeding.

Every Barca counterattack brought a lot of noise from the crowd (there was a big Barca supporters group at the bar) so I saw some of those... Deco's run was very impressive. Gudjohnson hitting the post reminded me of old times!

I wouldn't count out Man U or Lyon entirely... I certainly didn't have Arsenal picked to go to the final last year and I think both of those are better teams.

True.. hard to tell, its just they've not done well in recent years so they dont really scare me at the moment. I'll probably be eating my words now!

Still Chelsea seem better equipped in europe than both those teams.

quietly pleased nobody has mentioned LFC, just like the 04-05 campaign.

IN ISTANBULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
WE GOT BEAT 3-2,

WE GOT BEAT 3-2
WE GOT BEAT 3-two, oo oo

IN ISTANBULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
WE GOT BEAT 3-2

(or we won it 5 times, whichever you prefer!:p)

Grego, what will we do if Barca draw Liverpool next friday?

dream of winning it five times (and be confused by the fact we have more spanish in our team than you do!);)

anyway, we never get barca; they'd never fix it so that we met so early.;)

Funny you should say that. Russian football fans are convinced UEFA fixes the draw... my missus included. Especially Chelsea's draws with Liverpool and Barca last year (after the events of the previous year) and with Barca again this year.

So, should we call it? Chelsea v Liverpool quarterfinal?

what do you mean russian fans??8O :?

everybody knows about the fixing, e.g. Man Utd have exclusive rights to being the hot ball in both FA Cup and CL draws. If would take centuries for another seed to replicate the 10 years of good luck man utd have had in CL draws.:x

at the FA cup draw this wknd, trevor brooking nearly slipped up when he saying "ricky hatton will draw man ut..........i mean the home teams!"
