So its pretty common knowladge Carl cox is moveing on but surely hes gonna get anouther residency in ibiza..Anybody heard anything?

Guys, does anyone know why coxy doesn't play the first week in September? (He hasn't for the last 2 years anyway). Thinking of heading out for a couple of days that week next year, for the main reason to see coxy @ space before it all ends but if he's not there that kinda puts the plan on its arse?

first thought was 'not another thread on this subject', but the question is a bit different.
I think that coxy will pop up as special guest every now and then in some of the venues starting from 2017, but am pretty sure he's done with a proper residency after 2016. I think that with the end of space (as we know it) and him turning 54 next year, he's sort of come full circle and for him it's the perfect moment to call it a day in terms of ibiza residencies.

I guess he'll do 2-3 music on appearances, play for jamie jones and circoloco and a few ushuaia gigs (openings/closings or la familia). so plenty of opportunities.

That's what I reckon, which would make the parties he appears at incredibly packed as it'll be a rarer chance to see him. Can only imagine what Music On or Paradise would be like when he starts his set if it's one of only a handful he'll be playing across the season. Which is what I'll be doing, imagining, as I certainly won't be in that maelstrom when it happens!
The thing is, a weekly residency can be the easiest touring schedule. Stay in Ibiza all summer and fly out for a few European festivals. For someone looking to slow down, that's probably the easiest option.

no it won't be that bad in mid june. it'll certainly be very busy (because it's coxy), but the opening parties around those dates normally don't get packed.

Arrgh so he's starting it earlier next year but started it late this year. I just missed him this year cuz of my dates and wished he had started it early. But have mid July off next year so I'll be able to catch this. Just hope it isn't stupidly packed....the supporting DJs for these nights are gonna be a lot of heavy hitters for sure.
I doubt that, he will be 55 the season after the next hardly spring chicken. He have hinted in interviews a long time that he is done. Sure he will do a few gigs in Ibiza but no residency.
End of an era for sure.
