equipment.

As for plugs - easier to cut the cable off something else (or buy a plug with cable) and then splice the wires together. :?

8O 8O

You are on the wind up/trolling here aren't you? :o

I just realized you all are talking about those insanely shaped UK plugs.

Those can't be hard to change

now they arent, it takes less than 5 minutes. and im crap with stuff like that.

I was thinking of US (flat 2-prong) and European (round two-prong) ones. Unless you get the special replacement plugs or certain kinds that you can disassemble, it's a lot easier to splice wires than replace the plug.

now that is hardcore....

I had to learn to do it properly..... I used to blow up hair crimpers on a regular basis by melting saddle wax on to them to do my dreads..... 8O

When I couldnt find a spare fuse for the plug, I used to strip the wires stick two of the wires directly into the wall socket and bang another plug in on top of them, therefore running the hi fi and the crimpers from the same plug....... 8O 8O

I only stopped doing this when the back fell one of the plugs I was using (probably borrowed the housing screw for some other piece of maintenance) and I went to pull the plug out (I never used to turn appliances off before pulling the plug out) and put my hand over the bare wires and basically blew myself across the room...... 8O 8O 8O

Learning to do wiring was necessary I figured at this point, coupled with being married to someone who is so colour blind its quite funny at times and should never be let near electrical things..... :? :? :?

They do for important appliances and such. For US plugs, it's a third, rounded prong. For Euro ones, it's a metal strip on the side of the plug. 8)

i have never rewired a plug, but im sure i could if i had instructions. i recently changed a fuse recently, quite proud of that! was a lot easier than i thought it would be.

piece of piss, did electronics for a year...
