:D ive met many of them on my travels.......coming from essex..you live up to the high standards of an essex resident.i see. :D
 
I saw a documentary about Burning Man some time back. Think it was part of the Channel 4 series called sumat like '40 raves in 40 days' ??

It looked awesome. You had to take your own supply of water and food as there was nothing really available once you were out there. No Tescos or MacDonalds out in the desert !

It looked truly crazy though. Like the sort of place that if you were up for it would be a dream place but if you didn't feel like it would be a nightmare !

It was originally filmed 2/3 years ago - maybe more.

Was quite interesting actually.

After watching it, i though America seemed a long way behind the UK for clubbing/music.

I def found that too earlier this year and all the americans i spoke to aggreed. Only miami and New York (but getting less so all the time) are on a level for clubbing. Even chicago now has hardly any house.

I REALLY want to go to burning man though

It's not really a huge music rally. Mostly your probably more apt to hear the Grateful Dead, but I 'spose there would be people with electronic music taste. It's mostly just a bunch of people doing drugs, camping, and hanging out. If that's your thing, defo go. I was on my way home on a road-trip and ran into a bunch of people coming back from Burning Man and they were extremely rough looking, dirty, tired, etc....I think it used to be a cool idea kind of a communal, hippy kinda thing, but like most things, it's now just a hyped up drug-fest (not that there's anything wrong with that.....)

First go for yourself to this (best) festival there is. Undergo what it is to be part of such bizarre experience.

And than go back and you will totally agree on my point: this is only possible with the most secure and detailed precautions.
Ibiza looks like the place but it isn't. So go first and experince why.

I think you should read more about it those of you who think it's "just" a drug festival!
 
Yep. Use of drugs is not necessery (and even quit stupid) because all the activities are such a hallucinating experience.

Burning Man is undoubtedly the most amazing place that exists in this world today.....hands down.....i'd challenge anyone who thinks differently! As far as those who say that it is nothing more than a drugged out week....you couldn't be further from the truth! I have attended the last 5 years, and I choose to go sober! The mind-altering experience of Burning Man is crazier than the effects of any drug in circulation today! My advice would be to check it out for yourself and then make your own conclusions about it. Don't base the experience on what someone has "told" you, because there isn't a single experience identical to any other.....you get what YOU get out of it! It's life changing.....If you can make it at some point in your life, you'll be grateful you did!!
