"Big Sam" gone

Why do you do it to yourself? Just tone it all down, please! I thought you went to some great uni and is proper clever or something?

At the end of the day, really, what else is there to do in Newcastle apart from go to Byker Grove, stand on the revolving dance floor of the Tuxedo Princess and/or watch Newcastle play football? I'm not saying it's a bad place... but... you do have to appreciate that the football teams get's such a crowd because the Grove or the Princess doesn't open 24 hours a day. It's nothing to be proud of, especially if you don't even live there!

When I went there was a mini shop/stall in the big shopping centre who's sole purpose was to gather signatures begging for Shearer to do one more season. I mean, how can you compete with a mentality like that?

The fancy bridge and Gazza was wasted on them.

(Sorry all the Geordies out there, I thought you were all really sound people when I was there though, couldn't be more welcoming etc ;))

haha

i love newcastle as a city, but it's the only place i know that football strips become accepted casualwear for any occasion (ie all the time) for a certain demographic of the local population.

walk down northumberland street on any saturday, even when the toon are playing away, and it looks like the serengeti, but with shops.
