Quite interesting this, was quite surprised at Nottingham being in there?? having lived there 5 years I always thought it as one of Englands prettier cities? think they were right about Hull though

Yeah, bit surprised at Nottingham.

They said at the beginning of the program they would judge each place on all different aspects yet Nottingham seemed to place poorly on the grounds of crime alone.

Most of the best places seemed to be small towns/villages. Yeah they may be pretty but booooooring!

I live in Nottingham and am pretty disgusted with this. I have lived here 25 years and haven't seen hardly any 'trouble'. I think it is a lovely city.

No offence to liverpool etc but surely they are worse that Notts, i didn't even feel safe walking through part of the city in the day time there with big gangs etc.

Not sure who wrote the article but

It means nothing. York and Edinburgh were near the top of the 'sh1t towns' book a few months ago and they are both two of the most beautiful, affluent cities in the UK with a high standard of living.

Clearly, it's just been designed to generate publicity for the show. And it's worked!

Have you ever actually been to Liverpool? I don't think Nottingaham deserved to be on there but neither would Liverpool, it's a great city.

Yes our scallies are some of the greatest in the world, they make me proud!

I'm glad Liverpool was not on that worst list though, it's taken some much deserved bashing in the past but it's a thrieving city now and really deserves that capital of culture award.

My husbands work is in London but mine is in Liverpool although it's flexible. I also Love London and Liverpool/manc/cheshire equally and so can't make a dession on where to settle! :?

Thats true but I think when you visit most Cities this can happen. When I have had nights out in Nottingham I was aware of the amount of smack heads on the streets but it did not alter my opinion on the city and it's people on a whole.

No city in the world is without rough areas/scallies/crime.

I guess like I said before I don't agree with Nottingham being on that list but don't agree Liverpool does either.
