the closing of the striptease club secret garden was one week ago but, surprise surprise, it reopened tonight as a music club (RnB, house and spanish music) with the name la fiesta!!

for the first time ever it will be open during the winter - on fridays and saturdays from 11.30pm and on sundays from 7pm. dont expect b

bies though!!

the mad cow reopens next saturday as a salsa/merengue/rumba music bar with the name vaca latina (latin cow ). open on fridays, saturdays (both from 10pm) and sundays (from 7pm)

last winter it opened as an eat-all-you-can buffet restaurant..........

rey de copas. the oldest bar in ses variades with more than 40 years (cafe del mar started 24 years ago ) is open on fridays (from 5pm), saturdays and sundays (both all day)

golden buddha. the new kid on the block in caló des moro (it started in 2003) is open on thursdays, fridays, saturdays and sundays

last winter sunseabar opened in february as a night bar but they told me today that at the moment they dont plan to open till next summer. btw, right now they are doing some reforms inside!!

anyway, the best place to enjoy the sunset during the winter is cap des falcó in the south of the island!!

a little correction:

the first one was actually the bar of the hostal catalina (nowadays savannah ), which was also the only building in ses variades in 1957 when catalina prats torres and his husband josé luis valdés ordieres opened the small hostal (now turned into a hotel)!!

the best place to enjoy the sunset during the winter is cap des falcó in the south of the island!!

but if you want to see it from up there another option is hostal la torre in cap negret!!

soul city re-opens tomorrow but not as an RnB/hiphop club like during the summer (and last winter)..........

.......... surprise surprise, this winter it will be a jazz club with bands playing live!!

it will be open from thursday to sunday - 9pm till late. thursdays and sundays with young musicians; fridays and saturdays with veteran musicians!!

Ian the owner told me they are having 2 rooms in Ground Zero with 2 seperate DJ's next year. One playing Brit Pop/Alternative and the other playing Heavy Metal/Rock.

boulevard cafe (av. dr fleming 64) had a facelift this winter and now they have chill-out music every day from midnight and also some themed parties (last friday it was dedicated to the 80s)..........

on nye they will have to julian amour (guaraná, amnesia, etc) as the special guest dj

open daily from 9am till 4am!!

tonight all san antonio will become a huge flower power party!!

all the west end has been specially decorated for the event and in all the bars there will be 60s/70s music. there are free buses from ibiza town and the organization expects that everybody goes dressed like hippies so it can be very funny!!

instead of jazz concerts tonight soul city will have to 3 local rap combos live!!

a little update about la fiesta..........

now every friday, saturday and sunday goes like this:

· 7.30pm to 11pm - RnB, hip hop, etc
· midnight till 6am - 60s/70s music

from now the new band ibiza jazz trio featuring the famous pianist (and saxophonist) joachim kühn will be playing at simple every thursday
