Carlos Simó gradually phased out the dance music of the time (funk, soul, disco, flamenco) and replaced it with fresher sounds, from pop and rock & roll to punk, post-punk and new wave. He championed acts like Ian Drury, Joy Division, Led Zeppelin, Tom Waits, Sex Pistols and Nina Hagen. Later, he wove in krautrock and early electronic bands like Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream. He pioneered an eclectic style of DJing years before the term "Balearic" would be coined to describe Alfredo's sets of reggae, soul and pop at Amnesia in Ibiza.
