Automobile Advice Please

currently leaning towards the VW Polo Moda

of all the reviews I've read, the most negative said it was loud and dull and doesn't come in 3 door range

can live with that - or is there anything else I should know?

Is that the new shape Olly :?: If so, nice car. And you should be fine reliability wise.

My car was built at there Czech joint venture factory with Toyota,
and the underlying design is Toyota's,
so the quality build is quite good ...
omg - poor morbyd is ****ed :)

Peugeot Citroen announces RECALL

Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1 cars built in the
Czech Republic have been recalled

Peugeot Citroen has recalled 100,000 cars across Europe
to change their accelerator pedals.

France's largest carmaker said that Citreon C1 and Peugeot 107 models,
produced in a joint venture with Toyota, were being recalled
after the Japanese manufacturer launched a massive recall of its own.

Jean-Marc Sarret, a spokesman for Peugeot Citroen, stressed that the measure
was "preventive" and said that there has been no evidence of accidents
or safety problems linked to the pedals.

Owners of the two models will be notified by mail of the recall,
which involves cars built between mid-2005 and mid-2009
in the Czech town of Kolin, he said.

Sarret said the recall, which affects about 10 per cent of all Peugeot Citroen cars,
came after reporters called with questions about the partnership and after Toyota,
which manages the 50-50 partnership at the Czech plant,
told Peugeot Citroen of the problem.

The plant at Kolin produces about 330,000 cars each year -
two-thirds of them for the French company, and the rest for Toyota.

The Peugeot 107 and the Citroen C1 are essentially the same car,
with styling and fitting differences, as the Toyota Aygo,
one of eight models the Japanese company has recalled.

More than four million cars and lorries on three continents have been affected
by the recall that was sparked by a sticky gas pedal caused by condensation
that builds up during assembly.

Toyota, which overtook General Motors as the world's top-selling automaker in 2008,
has been bedevilled by a series of safety issues that have raised questions
about whether it sacrificed its legendary quality to become world number one.

Awwww crap.

Funny... when I was reading the news about the big Toyota recall I totally forgot that my car was built by them.

I suppose it'll be a good excuse to take the car in for its regular check-up under warranty. I hadn't bothered yet as my dealership is way out on the edge of town and I've still only got 6000 km on it

i don´t believe that there is a real problem with these gas pedals.
probably an anti-toyota-campaign from some competitor(s),
maybe general motors :)
